Today's cutie Charley gets dressed up to help her [parents hand out candy! Miss hoppy (my bunny) always was there, kids would sometimes have to be reminded to take candy, as they would just be mesmerized by the chance to pat a bunny!
Do your pets greet the kids, run from them, or what do they do?
My dogs will bark their heads off every time they even see someone walk up the walkway. One of us has to hold the dogs back while the other gives out the candy.
Not sure how Bruce will handle this until I get home from work. :eek: Maybe he'll just put them in the backyard.
But if they were allowed to, they'd greet everyone and run outside with them. But you never know if someone is afraid of dogs, so we just keep them back.
I've had kids ask if they can pet them, and of course I let them. :)
The cats will be hiding back in the bedroom as they always do when the dogs bark.
We aren't handing out candy this year... but if we were, Towser would be ecstatic about having people come "visit". That dog has seriously never met a stranger. :)
Cassie is funny about the door. If someone knocks, she will run and hide, but if the person stays, after a little while she will come out of her hidey-spot. It's as if she has to hide while the guest gets situated, and then when they are set, she will come and say hello. Right now there are no kids of trick-or-treating age in my building anyway.
Karen, I think I'd have been one of the kids who was absolutely mesmerized by a bunny to pet at your house!
Well, we had one trick-or-treater (our 8 year old neighbor twins) before I got home, and only one after (a 3 year old with, what I thought were, her parents, but they had bags for candy too). So we didn't have to deal with barking dogs or hiding kitties this year.Quote:
