Kim and Jim's vet visit
The kitties went to the vet yesterday for their check up . (the shelter likes you to take your new adoptees to the vet within a week, even if they do not need shots ).. And this is a good thing. Poor little Kim has ear mites and now has to have drops twice a day. No fun for either of us. We are treating Jim too, because they were and are together. This unfortunately is preventing me from introducing them to the gang. Don't want them to catch the mites. Kim is a good 2 pounds smaller than her brother. She is so petite and I'd say even skinny..
I am still working on those pictures. I know the suspence is killing you.

Yikes! Ear mites...think the shelter needs a phone call to alert them? I don't have any experience with ear mites..so, I don't know if it is kinda common or not. Can't wait for the pictures!!!!!

Oh, poor little girl...I bet that itches. :(
Glad they are otherwise healthy. :D

Ear mites are common, especially among shelter kitties.
Did they behave well at the vet? any hissing or growling?

Poor Kim! Chester had ear mites when I first got him. I found him stuck in a tree in my yard. The drops cleared them up but he sure didn't like the drops in his big ole ears. Did they get a clean bill of health other than the mites? I'm sure they were perfect angels at the vets.:)

Kitties were very well behaved. Just a little wiggly. They have the loudest and most constanly going purr, though....makes it hard to use the stethescope...hee hee

Storm had earmites too and I adopted him from the Humane Society. He now has the cleanest and best ears out of my three. Pepper's and Sunny's ears need to be cleaned weekly because they produce too much ear wax. I think it's due to allergies. I'm glad that everything went well at the vet. Good luck with the earmite treatment. I can't wait to see their pics. :)
