The hockey player of the same name has passed. IIRC he played for the Maple Leafs.
Well let me eat my boot. Ted Kennedy the senator has passed away. May Mary Jo Kopechne rest easy now.
I have to say that may God rest his soul.
I think there are two ways to look at TK and his life.
At the moment?
You have to respect his life and passing.

I didn't realize he had been a Senator for over 45 years. I also forgot that he went for the Presidency in 1980. RIP, Sen. Kennedy.

What a sad day...Dominick Dunne died too. A fascinating man and a terrific writer. His path crossed with the Kennedys on occasion!

Oh, I'm sorry to learn that Dominick Dunne has passed away too now. What a fabulous writer.
I'd just been thinking in the last couple of days, what with all the Ted Kennedy news, that I need to reread "A Season in Purgatory."
I was very pleased to see that the family o.k.ed and took the time to stop by the front of the senate building to give the people that worked with him the chance to say good-bye.
What a great show of respect.
I do live in a pretty cool country.

What a very long, sad, and stressful day for the entire family, but as always, they have handled it with grace and dignity.
Sad to say, they have had to do this way too many times.

Is it me or was it a nice touch that the lightning in the background was a little punctuation to the ceremony?
Also, I think it was just that the ceremony ended in darkness. No TV shots of the family leaving, let them have a moment.

I laughed with Orrin Hatch last night at the Wake, and wasn't John Culver simply hysterical, talking about his sailing adventures with Ted.

We watched most of the traditional Irish wake on Friday evening. Really great. John Culver had a great story to begin with, and oh boy can he ever tell a story! I was in stitches!
Had the TV on all day Saturday, watched the church service, the Capitol ceremony and the cemetery bit. Then continueed witht he documentary, Teddy, In His Own Words.
Ted Jr.'s talk was amazing!
I watched that too and found it to be very interesting. There was a lot of footage that I had never seen before. It seems MSNBC kept showing the same documentaries over and over, and it was good to see something new.Quote:
