Good Bye Chester
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...tersoproud.jpg
Most of you will remember this big handsome boy. He was the first baby I got when I moved back from home from Florida. He was such a sweetheart and he loved Rie Rie so much more than he loved me so I let him go live with Rie when Kitty Boo came to live with me. He has been extremely happy living with Marie and they had just recently moved into their brand new home. He followed Rie everywhere and if she was sitting, he was in her lap, if she was laying down, he was laying by her side. No matter what Rie was doing, he was not far away and she was his whole world.
A week or more back, he just quit eating. The vet couldn't find anything wrong but gave him a steroid shot, hoping that would help kick start him back to health. It didn't so we took him to a vet his regular one suggested that had the right equipment to look further into it. Those people did nothing but put in a IV and give him fluids. That didn't work and we knew this was taking him in the danger zone, going as long as he had without eating. This time his vet referred Chester to the LSU Vet School in Baton Rouge. This school has the reputation of doing nothing but the very best for animals and they lived up to their reputation. In just a few days we knew what Chester's problem was and it was unfixable,
http://t.petco.com/Content/ArticleLi...hosarcoma.aspx . We could have fought to keep him alive but we did not want to put him through all that. He had been to sweet to, to many people and other animals' and I just didn't want him to suffer anymore than he already had. So laying on Rie's lap, we sent him on his last journey.
Goodbye Chester! Everyone who knew you, LOVED you because you were just so well behaved and sweet. I will always remember how you would jump in the middle of the girls when they would get into a squabble and break it up and you would poke out that white chest and stare them down until they backed down and left. I will always remember you as my Big, Beautiful, Handsome Boy! Our hearts are breaking over loosing you, you were loved by so many! Give Kitty Boo, Amy, and Annie our love.....

Aww, rest in peace, handsome kitty! You were much loved not just by your family, but by all those who grew to know and love you here on Pet Talk. You have left deep paw prints on your momma's heart, and will always be remembered fondly.

What a beautiful kitty boy. Big HUGS to you, Laura and Rie. Chester, please give Kitty Boo, Amy and my Cassie some purrs and head bonks.

R.I.P. Sweet Chester. Say hello to Ming, Mac, and Kitty for me. Tell them they are still loved, just as you are.

I am so sorry. It is such a tough thing to lose an elderly cat friend through cancer as it goes so fast. You took the right decision not to put him through strenuous therapy with little chances......
Tigris will welcome Chester at Rainbow Bridge.

Chester had a wonderful life - as long as his Rie was nearby! :D Good for you in recognizing that he loved her so and wanted to be with her.
And now is his home going, so sad for those left behind. My condolences.

Thank all of you for your kind words. I NEVER expected that dx and I guess that's why it hit me so hard. He just NEVER acted sick other than to quit eating. They wanted to keep his body to study what was so different about his cancer, it was different from what they had seen before but we just couldn't walk out of there without him. LSU is a teaching school for Veterinarians and maybe it could have saved many others if they learned from his but we just couldn't leave him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Chester no doubt was a wonderful sweet loving boy and I'm sorry he's gone and I think you made the right decision for him. I believe you will see him again one day. My condolences!

Laura and Rie Rie ~ I am so sorry for your loss.
Of course we remember your gorgeous Chester. Thank you for always putting his best interest first.
Run free sweet Chester. I hope you find my Willy boy. He wanted a brother more than anything and he can relate to having to breakup disagreements amongs the girls. Like you, he was a peacemaker.

Dearest Laura and Rie Rie, my deepest sympathy to you both on the loss, so sudden, of your beloved Chester. What a sweet, handsome boy, a beloved Pet Talk veteran, and what a wonderful, fine life he shared with you! You gave him all your love and the very best care, and you let him go now rather than have him suffer any longer. May your precious memories and keepsakes help to bring you comfort.
Rest in peace, dearest Chester. You are whole and healthy again, free of pain, a glorious Angel at the Rainbow Bridge, watching over your beloved Laura and Marie with Kitty Boo, Amy, and Annie. Please send some purrs down to their hearts to remind them that you are with them always and will welcome them Home.. One Fine Day..
God bless you all,
:love::love::love::love::love::love::love::love:,

Rie and Laura - Chester was so very special. I am so sorry he passed; cancer is a hideous foe.
I hope in time your memories of him will bring smiles - they may have already. He was a truly handsome, loving and beloved boy.:love:

Laura and Rie, I'm so sorry you had to say goodbye to Chester, such a sweet boy he was. You will miss him, but you did the right thing to not him suffer any more. It's hard, though. :(
Rest easy, dear Chester and then go find your friends at the RB. You will never be forgotten.
(((hugs)) to you Laura and Rie.
