Hmm, why switch to "organic" kitty litter in the first place for these purposes? The nuclear waste is already toxic enough, I don;t think they need special organic litter to make it more, rather than less dangerous!
It's funny, Dad always kept a bucket of Speedy Dry (now apparently called Oil-Dri) in the garage for oil spills when working on cars or trucks, and I always thought that looked like kitty litter!
Not to mention that the organic litter is much more expensive than plain old clay. What next, using Feline Pine (TM) to clean up spills from blown engines on the race track?:D

I used the Oil-Dri for kitty litter way back when. It was cheap and worked very well - and no chemicals in the stuff then.
