RIP Sir - your legacy truly lives on through the people and endeavors that you inspired.
Rest in peace, sir.
As the old hymn says:
The strife is o'er, the battle done; Now is the Victor's triumph won; Now be the song of praise begun. Alleluia!
Rest in peace, Mr. Mandela. You were always one of my heroes.
Another great hero of our times, a fighter for freedom, has left this world.
He had a long life, and too many years of this life, he was imprisoned.

I remember this concert as if it was yesterday, but many things have changed for the better since 1988.
R.I.P. Nelson Mandela
Isn't it amazing how much has changed since then? I was so surprised to learn, when I was a kid, there was a country that still practiced Apartied!
Yes, Karen, that's hard to believe, isn't it? Looking back, the 80s still seem to be so near, but so many things have changed ever since! Apartheid still existed, the Sovjet Union still existed, the Berlin Wall still existed and my country was divided ... We grew up with all these things, and yet it was a completely different world we lived in.
Nelson Mandela was a true profile in courage and we all are better for the good works he accomplished. Let us celebrate his remarkable legacy by standing strong against injustice in all of its forms.
RIP Nelson Mandela
