Otto
Our little blue Betta, Otto, passed away overnight. We knew it was coming and in fact, Helen and I were relieved, as he was quite pitiful the last week or so and couldn't swim up to the top of his little tank to eat. :(
Rest in peace, Otto. You were a very easy boy to love and I always thought you to be quite entertaining. I'm going to miss telling you "good morning" every day.
Otto lived for over two years, I think. I buried him out by my garden.

Rest In Peace Sweet Otto. :(
He had a long happy life with you.

Rest in peace, Otto! I don't the life span for Betta's, but I would think 2 years was pretty good?
-
Rest In heavenly peace little guy. They sure do grow on you eh?
Yes 2 years old is a good life span for a betta. They have the same life span as a hamster ;).

I guess this is why we no longer have hamsters. I love them so much, then they die and leave me so upset. I want another Betta, though. But I need to wait until my daughter wants another Betta. She was Otto's caregiver. I fed him when she was away, but she cleaned his "cage" (as she called it) and he thrived. When she is ready, we will get another fish. Silly as it is, I miss Otto. Otto was easy. Otto was friendly. I loved him. :(

I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this.
These lil' guys do have a way of growing into your heart. I'm sorry to hear of his passing but thankful he's at peace and his health has been restored.
{Take care, Logan & Helen.}

Logan, I'm so sorry to hear that Otto has gone to the RB. :(
I remember meeting him when I went to visit you at your house.
He was the first one of your pets to meet me when I came in the front door. :)
I meant to get a photo of him while I was there but he is the only one of your pets that I didn't get a picture of that day.
I know what you mean about little pets not living long enough, since we lost our gerbil Chocolate in July it was just too empty without her. Since then we have added a hamster and a betta fish to our family.
I have a feeling you may have another betta in your house again soon.

Zoe, I never got a picture of Otto, either. :o
My family laughed at me when I would talk with Otto every morning. I swear, fish do respond, though! I know goldfish do and Otto did, too. Its not the same as our other pets, but I thought he was a really neat fish!! And obviously, Helen did something right with him. He lived a long time (longer than any fish we have ever had....and by the way, every fish Helen and I have ever had have been named Otto)! LOL!!
