I'm not understanding why she can't be treated for the pyometra first and worry about the tumors after that.
I don't know the whole story but I will try to get more details from IMOM. I've always heard that pyometra is life threatening and is an emergency. IMOM usually only raises funds for life threatening situations. I'm not sure what is different in this case.
I do know that the vet who originally agreed to treat Paige backed out for some reason saying that they could not comply with IMOM's fundraising policies. What their specific objection was, I don't know.
Paige has an appointment at UC Davis on Tuesday. I'm praying that the breathing problems are not lung cancer. :(
Paige had her appointment at UC Davis today. The news is not good. Update from her family:
Quote:
Paige's prognosis just turned grim. She has Cancer and fluid in her chest.
The Dr. is going to call us with the rest of the results.
For now I am going to bring my baby home.
Update: Paige has terminal cancer according to the Lung and Chest Specialist. It is confirmed, the liquid in her chest between her heart and lungs is full of cancer. The Oncologist will be calling tomorrow or Thursday for options if any :(

Everyone,
Last night, Paige passed away. But before she did, we got her dressed up a bit and put her into her stroller and strolled her to the door and on the porch for the little kids to see her one more time and for her to see them. She loved Halloween because every time the door rang, she barked load and ran with me to open the door to little ones that I referred to as "babies" to her. I am including her recent pic from Sunday at Santa Cruz beach. We were so concerned of how she felt last night, that we didn't get any pics of her :(
P.S. Thans again everyone for your support and words of kindness.
Rest in peace, dear girl. I will move this to Dog Memorial, with a heavy heart for all who loved her.
Rest in peace Paige. Let this be a lesson in spaying your dog and if you can't afford it then cut back on stuff that you can and get it done. Outfits are nice, but a dog's health should come first.
RIP Paige.
Oh no.:( I'm just heartbroken to hear this. I was hoping for a miracle.:( What a beautiful girl she was, and how lucky you were to have had the honor of sharing your life with such a pure and gentle soul. I may not have had the pleasure of meeting Paige, but nonetheless she's left her pawprints on my heart, and she did so many over the years. Rest easy now at the Rainbow Bridge, precious Paige, until you and your family are together once more. You've earned your angel wings, sweetheart.
