Prayers on the way for Spotty boy!
Hoping the surgery goes well!
Spot is out of surgery and doing well. He will be relaxing at the vet overnight and will come home tomorrow after work.
Aww, that's good - and everyone at the vet's office will become familiar with the thump of that tail!
Glad to hear the surgery went well.
Sending good vibes to Spot for a speedy recovery.
Great news!
Sounds good.:) Prayers for a quick recovery for Spot.
Spot is home and doing well. The cancer, unfortuantely, is the most aggressive type they get in the anal glands. The tumor was small (about marble size) and the path report showed a clean margin, though it was only about 1 mm. Since they only look at a section, there is no garuntee we got clean margins all the way around. The vet is recommending chemo, which would be for 6 weeks. I think we are going to go ahead with the chemo and hope for the best. Keep the prayers coming!
We will do! Hopefully the chemo won't be as hard on him as it is for some humans.
Here's hoping Karen! The vet said the only side effect is some possible kidney problems, so we will have to do blood draws every 2 weeks. Last thing I want to do is effect his quality of life, cause right now he acts more like a healthy middle aged dog then a sick older dog.
That's good, it does tend to be way easier on animals!
