Karen, is it possible to have "Today's Posts" readily available on the bar where "New posts" etc. are?
... and can we get the links under "Viewed posts" and "Replied to", like we used to have? :)

Today's Posts is sitting right there under "Quick Links" right below the "What's New" button on the darker green bar below. There you can also easily view "Subscribed threads" which would include all threads you have replied to if you have that preference checked in your profile.
Catty1, no idea why "Top" doesn't work for you, for me it jumps me back to the top of the page.
Freckles - the "similar threads" are a product of the software, it looks for like keywords, etc., with no regard at the moment as to when the thread was posted. That, too is part of the search engine, which Paul is working on rebuilding. Once that is done, we can change some things, as you can imagine, having an index of all 2.x million posts is critical but also time-consuming.
Thanks, Paul will look into that. When I use Safari, it works fine, Firefox does not.
Something else you may have noticed:
Now, where it listed "the newest user" it is the most recent person I have approved as a member, not the most recent person who has registered, but is not yet approved. This will keep you all from seeing all the drug-name spammers, etc., who register and try to join. You don't "See" anyone until we say they are good to go. So if you have a friend who registers and wonders why they are not showing up yet, urge them to post an intro or comment, so I will know they are a real person!
I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this, but my question is: Who (or what) is Baidu Spider?
So, more changes:
You will notice "Today's Posts" is now in the top green bar, and the "Home" button, that was useless, has disappeared.
All the Google gadgets should be working, progress is being made!
Karen, just a question about the search function. I miss the ability to search by sections of the forum - for example, I used to be able to search for all threads started by momoffuzzyfaces in Cat General. Is there a way you can restore that?
Thank you,
elyse
If you click the tab that says "Search Single Content Type" then you have the option to search by forum. Seeing as most of the time you're searching within posts, that should work for you. We'll look to see if adding that to "Search Multiple Content Types" so it is available all the time.
