Abbey, you shouldn't eat seatbelts! What cute goof you are. Congrats on being DOTD!
Hi beautiful Abbey girl! A very happy Dog of the Day to you, sweetheart! Oh boy, I can only imagine the look on your mommy/daddy's face after she/he returned to the car!:eek: I've had Labs who have (after having been left alone in the car for a mere handful of minutes), eaten one dozen jelly/crème filled/iced Dunkin Donuts (she left me the ONE plain one), an entire WHOLE salmon, a top round roast, a loaf of bread (not all in the same day, lol) But never once did I return to the car to find it "deconstructed!":D I know it's not funny, the damage ($$$), but c'mon...seeing you sitting so calmly, there in the back cargo area, with that sweet look of innocence on your face...who could stay mad? hehe Plus, we'll never REALLY know who the culprit was, will we Abbey?;) Well, we're just SO glad that your family chose rescue, that they chose YOU to be their very own! You're a beautiful, big hearted girl, Abbey, and your family truly blessed to have you in their lives! Thanks for the BIG smiles, sweet baby girl! Hope you're enjoying your much deserved day of honor, being loved and pampered to pieces! Lots of love, hugs and kisses to you, beautiful Abbey girl!:love::love:
I am Abbey's dad. I am very happy that Abbey was selected as Dog of The Day.
When I came back to the car from the bank Abbey showed no remorse at all! She just had that plain old happy look on her face. A few days ago I was driving down the road with Abbey once again sitting peacefully in the back seat. I looked back at her and while she was sitting on the rear seat she had the seatbelt from the front passenger side in her mouth! She wasn't chewing it, just holding it. She had pulled on it hard enough to extend it that far. A quick No! and a tap on the snout made her let go of it.
What gets us is that Abbey has no history of chewing on things that are not hers. She only chews on her own doggie toys. Why she likes seatbelts, who knows.
BTW our car insurance company paid for most of the seatbelt repair. Thank goodness.
When it comes to food in the car our Chocolate Lab Sammy knows all the hiding places. When you leave him in the car within moments he has his head under the seats, around the glovebox, around the center console storage bin just in the hopes that we left something behind for him. If we have any food in the car it must be put on the roof outside the car if he is in there alone. That's the only way to keep him out of it.
