  7. Hello Cathy,

I have bad news! Lemon managed to break out of her cage. I have posted a thread on Pet general about the issue. Could you kindly give me your views?

    I thank you
  8. Hi Cathy,

Thanks for your reply. Its nice to share information about our loved companions. I will try the magazine tip you gave me.

And yes, I am Maltese, born and raised here!! I agree with you Malta is indeed nice with lots of history for the small size, but living here is sometimes too crammed.....you need to stretch out sometimes ;o)

    See you!!
  9. Hi Karen!

So glad you joined the Parrot Perch! I have two lovebirds as well. Teacake is the female and she's probably about 13 years old. She has a much younger boyfriend, Edla, (we thought he was a girl at first!) who is about 4. They interact a lot with my husband and myself and we call Edla "the mayor" because he always has to know what is going on all over the house. Teacake is very big on shredding paper so if you give your lovebirds a small magazine or catalog to shred, you will make the female very happy. They can be quite territorial of their cage so be careful. . .they have a big bite for little birds!

Living on Malta must be wonderful! I've seen pictures and it looks lovely. . .are you from there originally?

Looking forward to seeing some pictures of your new babies.
    Best always,
    Cathy
  10. Hi Catherinedana,

I'm Karen from the island of Malta in Europe, and joined Pet talk some years back. Today I joined your Group The Parrot Perch, since 3 wks ago, my husband got me 2 lovebirds as a surprise ). Never had parrots so these are the first. Did some research so to get some knowledge on how to properly care for them.

    Will post some pictures soon.

    Regards

    Karen
