A fishy friend and I bussed for 2 hours to the fish store today.. and both went halfsies on a betta (of course). Here's Angel, my new Opaque White Halfmoon:

(He's still a bit stressed from the long trip home. I'll try to get some photos of him flaring asap)

He's going in the breeding tank with Gracie, my opaque white girl, tonight :D

WOW, what a handsome Opaque boy! :) He really has beautiful fins, too, and only a tinsey bit of wash.

Are you sure he has been conditioned? You might wanna give him a few days of good food and rest... spawning is very hard on the boys, especially.

:D He's gorgeous, isn't he? I can't believe what an awesome find he was.

Yep, I'm sure he has been conditioned. The store I got him at feeds their bettas bloodworms at least 2x a day. I'll probably let him settle in the 10 gallon for a bit.. he still seems a bit stressed. :\

Thanks :) Opaques aren't rare like Albinos are but they certainly aren't as common as other colors around here. Another breeder told me that the only other person who works on Opaques in this area is Marianne Lewis (BCBetta.com).. who charges quite a few bucks for her bettas. I've always loved opaques so I'm gonna try starting up a line. :D
