Does anyone have any advice on bringing home
a new baby to the home? Dog has been the only
focus for 4 years!

My sister just had baby #2 in Sept and Scooby and my sister' older son were the focus for over a year. The hospital reccommended that when the new baby is born, take the blanket and/or sleeper and put it in with the dog bed or crate. Scooby adjusted very well, he watches over Josh like a hawk, and is very good with him. Good luck and congrats on your new baby!!!! http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif

Hi there..OH i fully understand what youre going through...we're about to do the same thing...our first baby is due in 3 wks and we had our pup/dog (will be 1yr come feb) and she has always been the center of attention. They say when you come home with the new baby to either have one of you come in without the baby, so the dog can say hi and all and calm down. Then have who ever has the baby come in. And yes see if someone can bring home a blanket or something that has a smell of the baby so your dog notices the smell. What we're doing with our pup is, im letting her smell the diapers in the bag (since they have that baby powder smell) and letting her get use to the new baby's room. we also have friends come over with their 6month old and every time they come over she just loves to lick the top of the baby's head..its cute....but thats about it... http://PetoftheDay.com/talk/smile.gif
