What a difficult choice, I just like them all! :D If I had to get one of these I would get a rabbit (there's so many lovely rabbits on this site that made me really want one :D :D :D ). I love hedgehogs too.

Since hamsters weren't on the list, I chose guinea pigs. I've never had one, but I do think I would enjoy having one or two. Just add it to my list! LOL!! :D

What's a Rock Cavie? A certain breed of guinea pig?

No no no. He he, they are not a guinea pig. Sounds like it though. You are very close though.;)
Rock cavies are a rodent closely related to the guinea pig. They come from the rocky mountain areas of Chile. They take dust baths similar to the chinchilla. I am currently studying them and I am planning on writing a book about them that should be out within a few years. They are very rare in the pet trade. Have only been around for a few months.
Here is a pic of a rock cavie. They look sort of like a miniature beaver or something.

The reason why I say Beaver is because when you look at them straight on they sometimes blow their cheeks up and it makes them look that way. I am going to scan a pic of mine and then I will show you so you can see what I mean.

Here is another of him and Silly my guinea pig running aroung while I clean their cage. Bad thing about cavies, they poop too much! I have to clean the cage everyday. Oh well, he's still a joy to have around though.

Don't worry everyone. My animals do not stay in that small of cages. They have their own room and get free roam of it and then go into their cage at night. My guinea pig is potty trained so she gets free roam of the den. They are so spoiled, he he. I think my bf is jealous.:p

Yep they love eachother:D And come to think of it she might be pregnant by him. I would have a hybrid. WOnder what they would look like. I guess if she is pregnant then she would have to marry him then. We all could plan a piggy wedding, he he.
The reason why I have them together is for that reason, to see if they would breed. So I guess if I see little piggies in their soon that would slove my question. Hmmm, I wonder.

Even though buns are my fav small animal, I also love guinea pigs, used to have a female called Winnie Pig, she was young and I saw her in a pet shop destressed so I bought her, she was very nervous and she seemed upset all of the time. Anyway, 1 week after I bought her Bunny gave birth, didn't know she was pregnant. I had to rehome Winnie as as you can imagine I had my hands full with the babies.

Winnie now lives with 13 other pigs in a colony and is really happy. I was glad I got her out of the damn pet shop.
