You may want to get some Carefresh pet bedding for them. Newspaper ink can be harmful if ingested, and wood shavings can cause kidney problems.

Actually newspaper is fine, most papers use a soy based ink which is safe. You do however want to stay away from colored ink as that is toxic. Aspen is also fine, pine and cedar are bad because they have phenols (scented oil in the wood) Carefresh is my favorite bedding though, that's what I used for my rats.

No worries, bedding and food for small animals can get complicated! When I worked in a pet store I had about a four minute long spiel that I gave to people looking for small animals regarding food and bedding.

i would switch their litter to aspen or carefresh bedding.. or even hemp will do.. i just know from experience that news paper isnt the best for odor absorbancy, but the hammies love to play in it lol. do you know what sex they all are?

I'm pretty sure that there are two males, and one female, but im not absolutly sure. They will be getting their own cages in a few days. . . . we just have to get them. We definently DONT want babies :eek:
