Yup I've heard of most of those before. Some are designer breeds but others are breeds that just haven't been accepted by the UKC or AKC but have been around awhile you know? Kind of like the Cane Corso (though in my understanding it has recently been accepted by the AKC)

The pyrenian mastiff is a more common breed in some sense, its been around since 3000BC in Spain. There's nothing weird about it. Similar story with the Tosa Inu. I don't understand what's weird about these breeds.
The others are mixes or purebreds being line bred for a different look. That's explained in the pages.

the Chinese Chongqing Dog looks like a mis of a mexican hairless/shar pei, and french bulldog.

the bullboxer is kinda cute.

the olde victorian bulldog and the victorian bulldog looks just like an english bulldog.

they had one of those Ori peis at the petstore i use to work at. it was one of the oddest looking dogs.

i have heard of a Tosa. they are VERY pretty dogs!

That's exaclty why I thought they were fakes or something cause the breeds they say are bulldogs look all like the english bulldog

A Bull Boxer is simply a designer mix between a boxer and a bull dog, pit bull breeds, any dog with 'bull' at the end. A Roman Rottweiler I am pretty sure is a real breed... rare though. They are just a little stockier I think. And are bred for something else.

Never heard of the other ones.... although pyrenean mastiff is fimilar sounding.

The pyrenean mastiff and tosa inu are both in all of my dog breed encyclopedias. They are real breeds.
The Irish staff, roman rottie, and a few others are purebreds that are bred for different looks, (taking oversized purebreds and breeding them ext.).
The bulldogs are mixes and the page even says this.
The chonquing dog is an old breed, which may or may not still be in existence. I've heard of it several times. One of my encyclopedias says its extinct.

A Rottweiler is a Rottweiler. There isn't anything out there called a Roman Rott as far as I know and I do know a lot about Rotties seeing as I've had many. There are German lines and American lines but they're both the same breed and f bred properly, both can do the jobs they were bred for in the first place. The Roman Rottweiler is just a fancy name.

I hate dogbreedinfo.com because of the fact that they put a huge amount of designer breeds on their site. Plus, a lot of the facts in certain breeds isn't all true.

Oh, thanks for correcting me on that. :)

Just a random funny story about a Tosa...

I was walking through Petco with two teeny rabbits one day and I came across a lady with a Tosa puppy. (almost 100lbs at the time) He was a bit formidable, but very friendly, until he saw the rabbits...

He took one look at the rabbits, and I started to hear a "click click click" noise...I looked down and he was SHAKING! He peed all over the floor as I was turning to get the big scary rabbits away from him. Poor pup, I felt awful, but looking back it's kinda comical since he probably could have inhaled both rabbits through one nostril. ;)
