I've always heard the San Diego Zoo was one of the best in the country.

Oh wow, is that the place we went to - or is there another Zoo? It's really a lovely place!! Love the panda, and the bear swimming. :) The weather seems nice too. I'm sure you had a great time! :D

I have been in the San Diego zoo 3 years ago but there was no baby panda visible. I still have two Panda beer mugs (or should I say bear mugs) - I thought that would be a nice souvenir for Bavarians :D

Whenever I come to visit we definitely have to go there again and visit the caracals too who look like Filou's big brothers :)

Great panda pictures! When we went to Zoo Atlanta this fall, the pandas were sleeping. I got a good shot of a panda's back (or at the very least, a panda-colored lump). :)

Sara....IF I make it down there in July I definitely want to spend some time there. Gini got me addicted to the Panda Cam. :o Did you see the baby at all? The panda in the pic looks pretty grown up.

Randi....this is not the same park we went to but it is associated with the Wildlife Park. This is the zoo portion.

Slick... if you look in the first pic the cub is on the left. She weighs 18 lbs now. She was about to nurse. After nursing...she climbed up to the top of the tree while mom dined.

Don and I had gone to see the pandas once before....last summer on a Saturday. The line was about 2 miles long.... so this time I went back during the week and shortly after the holidays. There was NO LINE....in fact we went back through four times.

And Barbara....the door is always open! :D

Sara, wonderful pictures! I am addicted to the Panda Cam........it is nice to take a break from work once in a while and just watch the pandas playing.
I saw it the other night and it was already dark but they were still outside.
Mom was really playing with her baby, Su Lin, and it was so cute.

You had lunch with them eh? Nice to know you are getting your fiber!
