Spence woke me up about 2 this morning throwing up, which is not unusual for him since he throws up all the time. But this time the vomit was really bloody. Looks like another trip to the vet might be in order today just to make sure he'll be ok:(

I hope he is okay. A vet visit will probably make you both feel better.

purrley! I'm sure it's a good idea to take him to the vet. Hope the problem will be sorted out, so Spencer will feel better! :) Good luck with him!!

OMG, sweet Spence I hope you're feeling ok!!! Purrley, do let us know what the vet says. I know how scary it is when your cat is throwing up blood. Marius did that right after he got some routine shots last year. I've been scared to take him back ever since!!
I'm thinking about you guys!! **hugs**
headbumps and lovies to Spence! I hope he's ok!

Amberlee - I havent taken him in yet, I'll see how he is when I get home in about an hour. Spence goes through this vomit thing quite frequently and I've had him to the vet numerous times for this thing. They can't find anything wrong, but sometimes they have to hydrate him. This morning his fur looked OK so I didn't expect dehydration - we'll see tonight and I'll keep you posted on how he's doin. Thanks for your concern Amberlee;)

There are a many possible causes of blood in vomit, intestinal parasites, ulcers, respiratory tract infections, the ingestion of toxics or poisons, heartworm disease, bleeding disorders or foreign bodies into the intestinal tract, along with other causes.

If this persists I would definitly get him to the vet.

Hi - here's the update on my Spence. He hasn't had another vomit problem since he's last bloody problem and he was quite perky and lovey all weekend. I'm just watching him really close. Thanks you all for your concern:)

What good news that Spence is feeling better. Right now it seems as though we have far too many of our kitties sick.
Rascal had a huge reaction to fleas, but I didn't post about it over the weekend.

Doesn't it drive you nuts when they throw up blood and the vet cannot find anything wrong?

Keep us posted on his progress, please!!

Spence is doing OK - he hasn't had another vomit episode since the last one - seems this has been the longest time period without him throwing up. Amazing!!! He has lost weight though, so I'm concerned about that, but he's active and eating so for now I'm going to leave well enough alone but I'll be keeping an eye on the weight. Thanks for your concern guys:) :)
