Remember me asking if you'd be upset over a crematorium moving in your neighborhood?

Well, its goten nasty around here. Turns out the crematorium is literally in my back yard.... less than 10 yards from my back door!  AND it not only will distribute dust, but toxins as well!

Last night was the town hall meeting, and everyone from our block went to fight it. I think its important to note that my town is a whole 1 square mile big.

Here's today's newspaper article
Crematorium story (http://www.readingeagle.com/re/news/1475325.asp)

If you oppose the plan, you should attend the Jan, 31st meeting
to vote against it. Encourage as many people as you can to attend
also. I probably would vote against it for aesthitic reasons ,if nothing
else.

I was at last night's meeting and the person running the meeting was a major &*@%$. You can bet I'm going to be at the meeting on the 31st! I actually got up and spoke at the podium about it last night... and half the elected officials basically blew me off  After the meeting we were all standing in the hall talking about it and one of the elected people approached me and told me that what I said made fabulous sense and she was going to follow up on that lead (I'll explain that later if she uncovers anything) It seems the town comittee board is divided in two on this one.

Next Wednesday is the traffic meeting and everyone is going to that one to discuss the lack of parking and the fact that the street is essentially a one way alley and logically not going to be able to handle the traffic.

Funny thing about this: I got to meet a ton of my neighbors that I never spoke to before! I've always spoke to the people within 5 houses of my own, but not further down. It was nice banding together. They decided to move it ot the firehall because we were CRAMMED into the tiny town hall. I think the next meeting is gonna be a major scene. Hubby will actually be there too (he couldn't go last night)
