Anybody know what reverse breathing is exactly and why dogs do it? My "Gabby" just did it for a minute straight. She also has had indigestion big time in the last day.

If you mean the kind of breathing where
they can't seem to catch their breath & breathing is very irregular and fast.Yes my
dog does that every once in a while. I asked the vet what it was and he said he was caused mostly be sinus drainage; and to just rub his throat in a downward stroke to help clear it. It also clears up by itself, but
it's really scarey to see it happen..

My previous dogs did what my vet called "reverse breathing" and it sounds so scary, like they are having some sort of asthmatic attack. I really don't know what causes it or what it is. I've never heard the two dogs I have now do it.
