Dog beds! I got 2 done Sat. but for some reason the pics of the other bed didn't get saved on my camera. weird. Anyways here's the bed I made for Kaige's work crate. The other bed I made for his home crate, which is the same but bigger & fluffier! lol

I didn't do any zippers on these like I wanted to. I'm not that good of a sewer yet. lol

Those look great! I love the material you used with the bones on it :) If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it? A friend of ours is going to make Tango a bed but I can't find any nice doggy sort of material.....

Jo Ann fabrics. It was a fabric that they really advertised a few months ago, I got this in the clearance section. :p But they have a lot of doggy materials there, walmart does sometimes but their selection isn't as big, but then again their store has everything as where Jo Anns is mainly all fabrics w/ some crafts. I would say any store that specializes in fabric would have a large selection.

They had SO many nice fleece desings too but I am too picky & didn't like the colors. lol

Those are great. I am going to have to sew back up Grant's bed, he ripped it all up and pulled out the stuffing. :(

Very nice! Kaige leaves his bedding alone? Ebony eats hers. I'm really trying to break her of that habit. I'm not having much luck though. ;)

Actually I have been really lucky with him, he LOVES to tear apart stuffed animals & the like but leaves the beds alone. Thank god. lol (knocks on wood)

Ok here are some pics of the other bed I made. This one is much nicer as I actually measured the crate first. lol

Kaige was wondering why I was takling pics of his crate without him in it, so of course he had to be the center of attention.

And of course Tiki has to go everywhere that Kaige goes:

And decides that he's not a crate type of guy

The blankets are tucked around the outside of the crate because a lot of Kaige's toys slip out through the bottom opening. This way the toys stay in the crate. lol

Great beds Sue. You have inspired me. I'll have to get with my Mom and see what we can come up with. I need super strong fabric as Grant likes to eat his bed. Wonder what would be the best stuff to make it last a wee bit longer.

Maybe an outdorr canvas type material? Thats what I use for dog toys and it seems more durable than most fabrics. You can feel the difference between the types, some are thicker than others.

If you have a heavy duty sewing machine they have thick leathers, suedes, vinyl and the like too.
I don't know if the dog would associate the leather with rawhide at all though. My sewing maching does not care for really thick fabrics though.

Good luck & let me know how it goes!
