Elvis' sister is coming to stay with us for a while because of and unfortunate incident. She is arriving at 7.30am today (Currently 1am, i should be in bed). I am a bit worried as she has grown up on a sheep farm/ property as a full time working dog. I am hoping she will adjust to life as a city dog for a while, and will hopefully be able to socilise her and get her into a sporting home.

I will post photos when she arrives. Good thoughts would be apreciated ;).

I am sure that if anyone can help that girl adjust to a new life, Rhi, it would be you (along with some help from Clover and Elvis ;)).

Thanks everyone :). she has been here now for a few hours and is settling in ok, she is a howler just like Elvis lol. I am going to have to do some work with her, she is not lead trained, hadn't worn a collar too often if at all, and she is not crate trained. Elvis is realy excited to see her and wants her to play but she is too scared at the moment for wrestling.

It was sad when her Mum had to say goodbye, and farmer Mick stayed home as he could not do it :(. I will get photos up when i get home this afternoon.

Oh well i wanted to see what it was like living with 5 dogs and if we could handle it ;).

Quick update.... Her Mum just came to visit on her work lunch break and Tinny went nuts, she is now howling again and carrying on, just when i got her settled :(.

Argh i have to go out soon and she will have to stay home.

Maybe tell her mum not to come in while she's settling give her a few weeks. May I ask why they had to give her up?

How sad for her past owners, but it's awesome of you to help out, Rhi! ^.^ I hope the little girl settles in soon. I'm definitely sending your family good thoughts... hopefully with plenty of exercise with her brother she'll adjust to a totally different lifestyle.

Gonzo was also raised on a ranch with very little socialization/leash training/house training until we adopted him, and it was really difficult for the first few days. When he started to trust us, he immediately bonded and he's loved being a house-pup ever since. Training and individual play time will really help with gaining her trust... I can't wait to see pics once she feels more comfortable!!

Thanks everyone. She realy is a sweet little girl (16 - 17" at the shoulder lol). Yep we will be suggesting to her Mum not to visit for a while.

Tinny has been realy good tonight, we had to go to a Flyball meeting and she was well behaved and said hello to a few people. We went for a little walk, she was a bit scared of people and kids riding their bikes, but did not do too bad and she was quite good onlead. Then she went for a drive to the supermarket and did not chew the car up while i ran in to get dog food. She is currently fast asleep on the floor next to me....awwwww :).

Erica that is realy reasuring to read Gonzo's story thankyou.

She is a pretty girl, but then that obviously runs in the family. It is all new to the pretty girl, it sounds like she is doing very well considering the culture shock she is going through. Please give the pretty girl a hug for me.
