These were taken on Christmas Eve in my front yard. We only have 1 or 2 days where the trees are these pretty colors here. They're green most of the year and then turn fall colors in December for a day or two lol. And now they're bare, and will be like that until March.

These pictures aren't exactly nature either :o Sorry, I'm more into grungy photography and I take pictures of old things. Anyway, this is an old mental hospital named Sunland but nicknamed Sunnyland by the teenagers around here. It's supposedly haunted. My brother and a few of my friends have been inside, but it's illegal so I'm not going in. Plus there's asbestos in there. Someone bought it in 2004 for a few million dollars I believe, and they have yet to blow it up like they said they'd do. They're going to build an office building or apartment complex on it :( If you're interested, here's a website about Sunnyland: Sunland: Tallahassee (http://sunland.inferno-x.com/). It's really neat to read!

I don't really have any pictures of the places around my house, but basically, there's a little green park next to my house, and then there's some woodland on that, and if you go a bit further then there's a little river. It's nothing really that grand, but it almost seems sweet in a way, and it's home to lots of wildlife:D such as this gorgeous bird:

http://www.birdwatch.ph/images/birds/EurasianKestrel.jpg

...a kestrel:) If you go a little way from my house, then there's lovely countryside that's very flat, so perfect for farmers and stables. A little further away, it gets more hilly, and the famous Pennine hills aren't too far away either:D

I live in a rural area so there is NO wildlife.. or nature. :(
 The definition of rural is:
1. Of, relating to, or characteristic of the country.
2. Of or relating to people who live in the country: rural households.
3. Of or relating to farming; agricultural.

Do you mean that you live in an urban area?

LOL yeah it is quite scary, even during the day. It's so creepy looking. I was hoping to get good pictures of it, but my dad was in a bad mood so I decided to take the pictures from the car. Oh well, I have to go back I guess. My friend's boyfriend lives very close to it so next time I'm over I'll have to drive by and take better pictures.

Unless if I missed it, I didn't see the stories and pictures sent in from people, and I thought that was the best part on the website!

Toronto is known for its Falcons. They nest on the window ledges of the tall buildings & help keep the pidgen population down.

When I'm on the Mississauga bus I always see one hunting on the side of the road. Today we saw 2 & we only went 10km if that. We were on Dundas, Erin Mills & Burnhamthorpe (something like that). When we went to Ottawa for xmas we saw about 20 while on the 401. Most were perched in a tree watching the cars.

Off topic...

The Grand Canyon is AWESOME! We went there on our honeymoon trip 10 years ago. I was so surprised that you can't see anything at ground level as you approach. The whole thing goes downwards from ground level! Duh, I guess that's what they mean by "canyon", huh? It's one of the places I have wanted to see since I was a little girl!

St Georges Lake at Creswick, Victoria, Australia.. about a 15 minute drive from home. This photo was taken a few weeks back, when all the blossom tree's were starting to bloom.

Everyone has posted such gorgeous pictures... I'd love to visit such beautiful places one day.

The lake. I wish I could find the original version I took of this picture, but for now, this will have to do. Also, once I get back home, I'll go through the files on the computer to find some more of the nature around here. =) I know I have loads of them.

Alaska is through Canada though lol

Well I've moved since this was posted... now we're in the "Ozark Mountains" which are really just big hills ;) But I do have some shots I've taken a few months back on my way to work

OK I lied I can't find any of them on my zoto, they're on my comp which isn't working right now lol But here are a few I did find:

Hiking, about a 10 minute drive from our apartment:

Wow... The grand Canyon is stunning.

Well, finally got the pics downloaded. Sorry there are so many, especially because they aren't very good. :p

This one has Jen in it, but I love it because it has snow in it. It's a good picture of Jen running, too.

Enjoy! :)

EDIT: In case anyone's wondering, the driveway is just under 11km long. Jennys daily walk is about halfway down the driveway and back.

I found one more, this cave was SO huge, I had to cut my family out, so you can't really tell just how huge it is. The picture cuts off most of the cave anyways... But I still find it is an interesting picture. P.S. it might be hard to tell, but it is sideways in this picture. ;)
