Possibly the cutest puppies I have seen in a while

Okay, all puppies are darling, but these guys have just melted my heart. They're at a rescue in town. I'm thinking about telling my mom ... she wants another Lab and she wants to get it before I leave home (at least 1 1/2 years away, probably 2 or more though) so I can train it (and it will be kept as the family pet once I leave). These are just listed as Retriever mixes, but honestly my mom and I love any kind of Retriever (except Curly Coated, never met one ;)). This would put off my Great Dane pup for a while, but for these guys ... I would totally wait to get a Dane. Plus, I'm still working with Mandy and if she'd accept an adult Dane in a year or so, I'd rather rescue. Okay, I'm rambling now :p

She almost said yes to some Lab mixes in November because one looked a lot like both Nova and Mandy as puppies. I told her she was crazy because we had just adopted Luka like one week before that lol. But now that the holidays are over things have died down, and I could take it to puppy class. Of course, she saw those in person and liked their personalities, seeing pictures online makes it *much* easier for her to say no. lol

Oh, send Nestle to me. My heart is melting. I adore Chocolate labs!
(My grandma had a Black Lab, Ace, when I was a kid. I've loved the breed ever since. Someday down the road I'll have a lab of my own.)

I sent the pictures to my mom and she replied with "They are so cute!" and rambled on about her friend that needs someone to watch her dogs for her lol. I'll have to talk to her about it later I guess :(

Yeah, I still live with my parents. I'll definetly be taking Nova and Luka. Mandy will get to choose (in a way). She has gotten really attatched to my parents lately. I want to take her with me but I also want to do what's best for her. The Labs are both my dogs, but if one of them liked it here better they could stay too. I think they'll go with me though, and Mandy is still hard to tell. I'll probably take her with me at first and see if her anxiety kicks in. If it does, she'll come back home.

Who's Mandy? LOL. My Mandy is White German Shepherd/Pit Bull. I don't know for sure since we got her at the shelter, but after searching for years I finally think I've got it. Her personality is exactly like a GSD, and also her face. If you see pictures of a White GSD it looks almost exactly like her. But, she has a shorter nose like a Pit, as well as Pittie ears and markings (spotted skin, light brown spots on ears, back, and legs). She also has (had really, she's overweight now :o) a Pittie body. Everytime I see a white Pittie or a white GSD, it reminds me of her.

My Mandy is possibly a Lab/Golden Retriever mix??? We think she may also be part grizzly bear. :p She was thrown in a dumpster with her littermates so I don't know for sure, just a guess. ;)

Yeah, I am. But the thing is I really would rather rescue, and when we get new dogs at this point they should be puppies, because of the way things are going with Mandy and Luka (we have to watch them 24/7 or keep them seperated). Mandy is okay with puppies. And, since Dane pups grow so fast it's unlikely I'll find one in a rescue that is smaller than Mandy.

And my mom is wanting a Lab (these are probably Lab mixes) to keep when I move out, but she wants to get it while I live here so I can train it. I got to thinking, if we go ahead and rescue a Lab or Lab X puppy, then I can continue working on Mandy and maybe in the next 1-2 years she'll be okay with an older puppy or adult/senior Dane. If I had the choice I'd rather rescue an adult Dane than buy from a breeder. :)

Tonight my mom is in a really good mood ... as is my dad. My dad actually mentioned the Great Dane pup and I was like "hmm ... I think I should ask about the pups!" My strategy has always been to ask my mom and have her tell my dad. If I asked my dad he'd just say "ask your mother" lol. Soo ... I'll ask tonight if the mood continues. I have to wait for my dad to go to bed though ;)
