Okay, I was going to post these pictures last week, but I didn't get a chance to resize and upload them until we got home. I have been wanting to take Ginger to a beach to see if she liked the surf and sand. Well, I couldn't find a beach that would allow dogs, but she was allowed on the sand at Sebastian Inlet. So here is her first adventure on the sand. :)
Her first tentative steps into the sand.

I was really disappointed that this did not turn out better. It looks like she is looking at a bunch of trash or seaweed, but that is actually about 100-150 birds there by the water. She didn't try to chase them, she just watched them.

Once we got to the softer sand (not packed by the tide), she rolled in it like she would the snow. :D Unfortunately she got sand in her eyes and tried to rub it out with her paw . It was quickly remedied and of course she tried to roll in the sand again.

She's such a cutie. It's a shame you couldn't find a dog beach. At least she did get to play, though. I like the one closeup of her.

Thank you so much everyone for all of the nice comments. :D Yes, I think she did enjoy her day.
Terry, maybe next year we can arrange to meet up with you, Daisy and Delilah. I would love to meet those two cutie-pies.
Ginger says thanks for the hug, Rhi, and sends back slurpy kisses.
Thank you again, everyone.

Joyce these pictures are terrific. For a minute I was thinking Sebastian Inlet was somewhere in NJ and I was going to ask you where it was. It looks like Ginger had lots of fun (except for the sand in her eyes) and she is as gorgeous as ever. Thank you for posting these. I really enjoyed seeing your girl.

What great pics. I have been to Sebastian Inlet and it is beautiful. Ginger looks like she likes the beach and sand. She just has to remember to not rub her paw in her eye with sand in there. :)

She is so precious. I'm glad I can say I got to meet her. Certainly next time we'll have to go to the beach.

Justin went camping at Sebastian Inlet 2 weeks ago (the weekend before Christmas). It's about 45 minutes from us. He and a bunch of friends camped on an island there. They had 3 dogs with them, none of which were ours. I wouldn't let him take any of our dogs as they tend to drink and I wasn't comfortable with that.

Anyway, it looks like Ginger had a lot of fun! I don't know of any dog beaches in that area, I've only been to the one on the west coast with Kay. I think (not too sure though) there may be one much more north, nearer Daytona. I remember my friend took her dog to one somewhere once. There are some good dog parks, there is one in Orlando that's something like 22 acres and it has a lake.

EDIT: ah, sorry, I should have read better before I posted. I didn't realize you were already home.

I appreciate the information, Kari. :) Ginger and I go to Florida every year to spend Christmas with some of my family that live down there. We are always looking for new places to check out. The park in Orlando sounds like it would be fun to check out. :) And I keep saying I am going to look for the beach in Daytona either on the way down or on the way back up (we go to Vero).

Yes, isn't it silly, we live in New Jersey and we go all the way to Florida to find a beach. LOL :D

Thank you Amber and Robin for your nice comments, Ginger wants to give you both big slurpy kisses.
Kay, I really liked that park that we were at. It had a big play area, and lots of places to walk and park. Although I think it was the company we enjoyed the most. We wouldn't mind going back there again. :)
