catnapper, your advice was brilliant!:D I did the sketch of the gypsy vanner horse, and i'm really pleased with it:) My scanner's lost a bit of the shading on the tail, but it still seems to look good:) I don't think i could have done it quite so well without your advice, to show the difference i've posted two horse sketches i've done before, and then the one i've done today is in an attatchment. (sorry for the huge sizes)
