Do you get holiday vacation?

How much time do you get off from work/school for xmas?

I really only get 2 days off :( But assuming I can get someone to work tuesday, then I will have 5 days off (*hopes*)

About two and a half weeks off school for me. It's best in summer, we get 8 weeks off, most other schools only get six!:cool: :p

Yep! Three weeks. :D We go back on January 7th.

Most of that vacation time will be spent doing homework, though, I've got loads of it. :(

I never work the weekend so I don't know if I'd count that or not, but we are getting out early today (within the next couple hours) and we have all day Monday off.

I work at a bar/hotel thingie..so we're never open Sunday, and we're closed Monday...We close at 5 on Saturday.

I have the weekend off, as I always do, and Monday off as my paid holiday. A three day weekend - woohoo!

We are closing early today and then are closed til Wednesday. Most of my co-workers are off til January 2, but since I don't have kids I volunteered to work next week. I have the entire month of February off so it's no big deal! I wish was able to go see my family right now, but thanks to a very generous Christmas gift from my Dad, I might be able to in February! :D

I work for the Marriott, so open 24/7 . But I take lots of time off all year, since I've worked there 25 years. I have a month off now, well 27 days. And good thing too, since the dogs got the rat bait, I can stay home and keep and eye on them. Tom works for a school dist. and is taking a 17 day vacation. Then in Sept when school starts we take another 2 or 3 wks off. He has every holiday off so I take them off too. But no matter how long you have off, it's never enough !!!

you only get 8 weeks off for summer vacation?!??!?! We get AT LEAST 12 :eek: from May 21 - September 1st!!

I always have weekends off, so I get 2 three day weekends...we get the day after Christmas and the Day after New Year's. I sent an email to a client in new Zealand yesterday, and got a response that were closed from the Holidays from Dec. 23 until Jan 16 for the Holidays...I want to go work there!!!

For winter break I get 2 weeks off. Today was my last day of school until January 9th but in January when I get back, I only ahve 4 days of exams and then get pretty much the rest of January off....

You all depress me. ;) I work at a dog kennel...the dogs still need to go out, eat, and get cleaned-so no vacation for me. I work both Saturday and Sunday, but luckily I have Monday off. I also work New Years Day. :o It was supposed to be whoever works one, dosen't work the other...but oh well. It won't be too horrible, I think we get to leave for most of the day on Christmas, and just come back to walk the dogs and leave.

I'm not working yet, but if I was I would have, sat-mon off, because if a holiday falls on a weekend, the day off is moved up to the next business day. For christmas eve work ends usually at 5 or 6pm, instead of 9pm.

But I'm a jobless bum right now, so I've had a month off :)

lets see, I am working tomorow...I have the 25th, 26th, and 27th off only vbecause we are closed on the 25th and 26th, I am working on the 28th, 29th, 30th, and get 31st,1st and 2nd off lol my break in kind of in spurts.. :p

Nope nothing special for me here. I always work Sunday-Tuesday and every other Wednesday so yep I am working Christmas. :( First Christmas I have ever worked and I am having a hard time accepting that. Work someplace that is 24/7 and since I am not one of the Monday-Friday people I get to work.

I worked 3 days last week, and will work 2 next week. My new job is VERY generous with vacation time. They pro-rate your education or your previous experience, and credit you as if you've worked there that long! :D
