I don't ask for help much, but my friend's dog Barley has a soft tissue knee injury and it looks like he's going to need surgery. He's 8 1/2 years old and any prayers/well wishes you guys could spare for Barley would be great. He's having trouble walking and he has to stay off of his feet. I know how PT prayers can work and I am hoping all will be well with Barley. Thanks.

Thoughts and prayers are coming to you Barley from Debary. I too have to have surgery in Jan. for a bad knee so I can relate to you buddy. Maybe we can recover together. Feel better sweetheart and try to stay off the knee if you can :)

We love your name Barley.

Barley goes in for his consult with the Orthopaedics tomorrow afternoon. My friend says he is doing "ok". They had to carry him upstairs last night because he can't climb the stairs. He takes a few steps and then he goes down. Good luck tomorrow Barley.

I will keep everyone updated.

Barley is going for surgery on Friday for the one leg that has a complete tear. He has a cruciate tear (complete) on one leg and a partial on the other leg. They are going to get his completely torn leg fixed first. It's $3,000 per leg. Poor Barley. They are having to get him a crate to keep him confined, they have tile floors and he slips and he doesn't need to be slipping around and hurting himself even worse. Prayers please that Barley does well in surgery. They took blood samples and urine today to make sure he is okay otherwise. He's a Rhodesian Ridgeback/Boxer mix and weighed 92 pounds today so he's a big boy.

Be well Barley!!

Aww, poor Barley. He is a big boy. We wish him well. I will definitely be sending out good vibes for him on Friday. (Although you may want to bump this up on Thursday night to remind me/us.)

Barley did very well with the surgery on his one leg. He had his check-up and it shows he is recovering well. He goes in tomorrow for the other leg. I met Barley a couple of weeks ago and he is such a lovey boy. Just wants to be by his people.

Glad to hear the first one went well. My parents gsd/lab mix tore her acl and had surgery when I was still living at home and it was NO fun keeping her in a crate for so long. It was summer time, and I would put the crate outside in the yard so she could still enjoy the weather. But it was still sad to see her cooped up.
Here's wishing a speedy recovery!!!
