Over the weekend, Stuart finished Kayleigh's new pen so she could fully move in. Kayleigh would like to give you a guided tour of her new territory!

"I was not happy when Mom came into my old pen and took my house away. I know it's ugly, but it's warm and full of my stuff! I was very happy to see my house again and I got a bunch of fresh straw in it!"

"I have a much better view of the human's house now. See how Daddy had to put up two fences. I don't like other dogs, but I like to watch them sometimes. This way I can see them, but I can't stick my head through and fight with them!"

"This is the best part. I just paw at this door and I get to go into the shop! Whenever I want! I can sleep in there and help Dad work. No more trying to get through the yard so I can sleep inside. Mom says moving me through the yard is pure chaos! She got me a big princess pillow and put it right by the woodstove. I love it! And i am a very good girl and don't chew up anything when no one is watching me! I'm not allowed in the house very often cuz I want to chew up the cats! :eek: "

Wow Kayleigh, you sure must have been a good girl this year to get those luxury digs there at the ol Glacier hotel. I am sure all of the other dogs are envious of your new pen. We will look forward to seeing more pics of you and your new pen. :D

Yup, just for her. Kayleigh will not tolerate another dog in her territory. In her mind, she should be the only dog on the planet! :rolleyes:

Oh Silly Kayleigh.... but then again, acting the way you do has gotten you your new HUGE pen.. hum.... :confused: maybe you're not as silly as we all think you are! :D ;) :p

Woo Hoo!!! Christmas came early for Kayleigh. What a lovely place you have. Such a lucky girl. Thank you for the tour.

Oh Kayleigh, I'm so happy about your new pen! You are living in the best place on earth (with the best mom & dad! ;) ) for a husky! Your dad sure is gonna love having you around to help him! Have fun doing zoomies around your new pen, pretty girl!

Whatta SWEET pen for one lucky dog! Of course, ALL your dogs are lucky! Tell me about fencing - I've never gotten so good and fast at putting up thousands of feet of fencing. Have you ever figured out how MUCH the fencing has cost!? Quite a bit - but worth every penny of course.

I esp. love the double fencing. That's a darn good idea.

How many pens do you have in total?

Don't even want to think about how much the fencing has cost so far! Stuart figures it's cheaper than another vet bill like the ones we had after the wolf came through! Fortunately, our friends will work for steak and beer which reduces the labour costs! Lots of the chainlink is scavenged. Stuart brought him 3 rolls of it from the dump this fall!

We almost lost Pacer to injuries suffered when his head got stuck in the fence once. He was yipping at Antare and then couldn't pull his head back out. A big ol' pack fight broke out when Pacer freaked. So now most of the fences are doubled like that--any fence line that is shared with another pen is doubled for sure.

There are six pens, plus the perimetre fence. Raven, Antare, Deuce and Mac share the biggest pen. Chase and Goldie have another huge one, but that one is getting split in half in the spring. Sundin, Chum and Pacer have one. Kayleigh has her own. Ozzy and whoever goes in there that day have Kayleigh's old pen and Deuce has a very small pen for sleeping & eating(also the hookup area for the sled). Raven needs a regular break from him or she's inclined to beat the bejezzus out of him! The rest of them rotate through the main yard and the other pens. Most of them get along so I can mix and match who goes in which pen!

Aww. . Kayleigh that is an awsome pen you got their!! Daddy did a really nice job :eek: Make sure you give him plenty of kisses for thank you's ;)
