Dad and I finished building Nala's gift - I still need to paint/decorate it, but Nala took it for a test run. She can't REALLY have it until Christmas. :p

Very nice!! You and your dad could make them (in 3 different sizes) and sell them at craft shows and make a pretty penny :)

Good job!

That's a nice one! My dad is hopefully going to make Finn a single hole one, for his water...that is just right for Nala!

You and your dad are very crafty with wood. Nala is lucky to have such great carpenters in her family. Will Simba and Kiara be receiving one as well?

I dont think you need to paint it. it looks great as is!
and it matches her coat. :D

It's perfect for your tall, leggy girl!

Simba, while being the big brother of the group, is lower to the ground and squarer of build, like his Pittie side of the family, so he might not need one!

The color is nice, but I understand wanting to paint it to protect and seal the wood - and make it easy to clean, too!

you might as well use water seal to keep the original color and protect ir from water...........
anyway it looks great, lucky nala

Thanks everyone.

The reasoning for painting it is because you may not see it in the picture, but the trims are different colored wood/different types of wood.
Yes, there's storage in the bottom, the top lifts up. I'll probably store unopened bags of treats in there.

No, Simba is getting a new bed and Kiara is getting numerous other things - and probably tons of balls.

Yep. :) I bought it while in Utah - Simba got a greenish/blue version of it.

I promise it's a lot more noticable in person.

Other than that, there is some wood glue in some spots where the wood split, so a clear coat/stain may not grab in those areas.

AWESOME idea, Kay.... I 'll have to get my dad to make Sadie one of those!! (They are just too expensive to buy). My dad is a contractor, sooo hopefully he can make it as good as your dad did, Kay! It looks great so far!!

BTW, I just love Nala's pink plaid collar! ;)
