View Full Version : How much does it cost to Kill a Cat?

At the animal shelter. I'm doing a project and my research has failed. Please help me.

I am writing about the costs to kill a cat bu (LETHAL INJECTION)

About a medium size cat, I'm not sure about the doses but that doesnt matter.


Please help me, thank you!!!!

The humane society here in town charges $35. But I'd guess the actual cost of the shelter is much less.

It isn't much, although I don't know for sure. The vet I work for doesn't charge anything.

also, do you know how many animals are put away each year? because no one adopts them?

It's a lot more than that. Closer to 7 million I think.

It was about 75 Dollars at the Vets,when they put Mr Scrappy,and Mr Fluffy to sleep.
I could,I guess have taken them to the Shelter as I did Pouncer,but I wanted to be there to hold them,and say Goodbye.
It was the least I could do for my Misters!

there is no database that keeps track of every single animal that is put down because nobody would adopt or it because its not adoptable, but the estimate is between 6-10 million and its also estimated that for every 1 shelter dog there is 2 maybe 3 more that roam on the streets of the USA. i know big cities like destroit have over 20,000 strays alone

The humane socitey of america could most likely could give you the averages and stats you need.
The only cat I ever had done it was free at the shelter if I disposed (horrible term) of the body.
This last spring having my Merlin (springer) put down and creamated cost me about $100.00 But if I had not wanted his ashes it would have been $35.00
