Catnapper's recent successful fostering reminded me of my kitten boys. Last summer, inspired by pet talk, I took a chance and accepted 3 little six-week old kittens for fostering. All grey/brown tigers...all boys.

The kitten boys lived in my spare bedroom for 2-1/2 months. They were only supposed to be around for about a month. But the Chicago area is experiencing an explosion in cat population :(

So, it took 2-1/2 months before they were adopted. long enough for me to become...very...attached.

Here they are…. Abbot, George and Buster: The kitten boys!

This is Abbot on his foster daddy's leg:

Here is George looking worn out from too much play:

Gotta rest now!

I let George and Buster go together to a sweet young woman who promised to only marry a man that her cats approved of.

That was hard and I cried.

But goofy boy Abbot was special to me. It was Abbot who jumped up on my legs like a puppy wanting on my lap. He was the one that said (in actions) MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY.

Another adoption counselor took Abbot one Sunday to an adoption event. I assumed he’d be back.

When the counselor called and told me Abbot was adopted and not coming home, I burst into tears.

The good news is Abbot went with another kitten to a nice young couple. He is a fourth-year vet student. The followup reports indicate he’s in a loving, protective home. I couldn’t ask for anything better.

It still hurts. By the time it was all over with, 13 kittens passed through my spare bedroom. (I took more on as the summer went by). But it’s Abbot that I miss.

Good-bye little darling.

Oh my gosh! They are all so precious! I can see why it would have been hard to let them go. I think that's why I've always been afraid to foster. I would become attached, then be in over my head with a housefull of animals! *laughs*

Thanks for sharing these adorable pics with us!

**hugs**

What adorable little darlings! No wonder they were adopted so quickly. I would have cried, too.

You did a wonderful job. Those little guys don't know how lucky they were!

That si the toughest thing,to let go.
I wishsometimes that I had kept Hershey Bar,the Siamese.
Or Ragnar.
Or Pouncette,and Babies.
But I know that it was for the best, and that they went to a Better Place.

OMG!!!! Talk about tabby heaven. Those precious widdle ones are just too darn adorable. I can clearly see why Abbot pulled at your heartstrings. He is absolutely gorgeous. In fact all three of them are.

How wonderful that they went to such good homes. :)

Congratulations on a job well done with your fostering.

I know if these tabbies were in someone else's home, (we won't mention any names here), they definitely would have failed fostering 101 AGAIN.

They sure are adorable and I'm glad to hear that they all found such wonderful loving homes. :D I think that I would've failed if I had fostered them and would've ended up keeping at least one of them. ;)
