LOL.... when I was cleaning Friday, I took some stuff down to storage in the basement and I was half a second from lugging the tree upstairs for the fun of it. I figured the kids and hubby would have teased me mercilessly (not to mention my parents when they come here for Thanskgiving dinner! :D )

No ... if you go to the supermarket there's TONS of Thanksgiving stuff ... FOOD!!! hehe, Thanksgiving isn't forgotten ... ever. People remember it because they get to pig out! There's just not many decorations for Thanksgiving. We've never decorated for it. Actually I don't know anyone who does.

I BET my sister has hers up too! I am not putting mine up this year since I will be working and not at home. I see nothing wrong with it anymore.. That is a lot of work just for a month of looking at it.

After Christmas, I re-decorate mine for Mardi Gras when I am off.

My mom decorates with really beautiful Thanksgiving items...cornucopias and the like...we don't put our tree up til at the earliest, the day after Thanksgiving. Thanksgiving, thankfully, isn't as commercialized as Halloween and Christmas. The malls are the last places I want to be around this time of year, people really get ugly. It's supposed to be a beautiful time of year, but, ugh, it's all so over commercialized, it's not even about that anymore. I try to have all my shopping done early for that reason. ;)

Let me ask a question - what's the earliest acceptable date to put up the tree?

I've only gotten as far as having a tree in my bathroom. We put ours up after Thanksgiving. I love listening to Christmas music, too. It's all I listen to at this time of year. I think your mom has the Christmas spirit early.

lol we had thankgiving ages ago in canada, but not to many people around here start putting up christmas trees till december. outdoor decorations however go up around september/october just because, it gets incredably cold(-50*C) and very snowy in the winter so everyone puts up their decorations before we step outside when its -32*C and start commenting on how warm it is

LOL!! Hoe funny!
I know this past weekend in North Eastern Ohio we had probally our last warm weekend, and I noticed a LOT of people were outside putting up X-Mas lights outside!! better to do it in the warm weather instead of waiting till it's cold and snowing outside!!

When I house sat last weekend, I went out for dinner and noticed alot of homes with their Christmas trees already up.

Personally, I think it's kinda premature. I mean, I KNOW Christmas is coming. But geez, let's get through Thanksgiving first!!

To each his own, I guess.

we usally get real trees but since my gandma's house got on fire we use one of her trees, (she dosne't have a family room anymore) I think my mom put it up because she was bored this weeek and wanted to get it over with
