Any experts out there who can answer a question about my 5 year old California Desert Tortoise-Scoots? We just got her a few months ago, found upside down in the middle of the road. She is thriving well and very sweet, even likes to fall asleep on our chest with her head under our chin. Anyway, we live in Ventura County, Southern California, where the weather is tepid. How do we hybernate her when the weather isn't consistently below 55 degrees? She has a crate indoors, and is put outside whenever weather permits. I am concerned about hybernating her outside because of the moist air. Will the garage be too warm if it gets up into the 60's? Should we just set her up outside in a doghouse? Please advise. Thanks
