Oh my, oh my - I have to remember! It would be a catastophy if I got up an our early on monday morning!! :eek: I'm going to check right now if it's this weekend here! Oh, I hate november, it's getting colder AND darker. :( December is usually bearable because of the X-mas decorations and lights. :) Not this year though. :(

I love that extra hour!

Though I don't notice it on a weekend since I sleep in anyway. ;) Work days though. I love to wake up to the alarm and reset it and sleep in that extra hour. :D

Hate that it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home though. Time to pull out Kia's orange reflector vest. :)

Great reminder Phred! I'm ready, got the batteries for both smoke detectors! I also change my back up battery in my alarm clock and my answering machine. ;)

I don't have to worry about changing the time here! Arizona doesn't do daylight savings time, however sometimes I forget if my parents are at a 1 or 2 hour time difference since they have daylight savings time.

Most states here start DST this weekend, I don't do it, I just assume every store, bank, business etc opens one hour earlier just for my benefit! At least I have to put up with this nonsense only for 5 months a year, I understand that some places have it for a lot longer.

DST ~ I don't do it,

Interesting approach! :D

However; they also CLOSE an hour earlier ...
In MY case -
I'd be showing up 30 minutes after everyone went home for the day! :(

:p

Now it's going to be dark by 5:00 soon everyday here which means I only get to see a little over a half hour of day light because I get home at 4:30pm and leave the house at 7:00am...lol.

I thought DST was to be extended?...
or was that idea postponed till next year?

But the NEW "extended" DST period doesn't start until 2007.

DST Extended by Four Weeks in U.S. Starting in 2007

August 8, 2005 Update: President Bush signed into law the Energy Policy Act, which extends Daylight Saving Time (DST) by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to end on the first Sunday of November. Extended Daylight Saving Time will begin in March 2007. See below for the new "spring forward, fall back" dates for the next few years.

We don't change our clocks here.A law just passed & we will be doing
that next Spring. Right now the Feds & State government are arguing about
which counties to put into which time zones. :rolleyes:

Oh my! I completely forgot! Where on Earth did October go???? I'm thinking the very same thing!! :( While I love all of the holidays, this year is quite overwhelming as I'm hurrying up with my college applications and such. :(

I'm going to go right now and change my clocks.

I hate it when it gets dark early! I live on the very end of the timezone so during the summer it doesn't get dark until 9:30-10:00 at night! It's great!

Yeh!! We have less light every day. Since it will get dark early, my chica will go to sleep sooner. Sometimes she doesn't go to sleep untill 9:00 pm . I get tired before her because I work all day, and when I get home I fall asleep before her. She pushes me and nudges me to play with her. She won't let me sleep.But I know she is such a sweet heart that I don't mind! ;) :rolleyes:

Or did you show up for Church an http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif Hour Early? http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/tongue.gif

And how about those SMOKE DETECTORS?? >>>

While you're Changing Things ...

*CHANGE* the *BATTERY* in ALL

Now how many of those Hidden Clocks & Timers did you forget? http://petoftheday.com/i/our_smilies/eek.gif
A lot of "newer" appliances & timers will automatically adjust
for Daylight Saving Time ... but the older stuff needs your personal attention.

I've made THREE sweeps around the house - and I've prolly *missed* one or two!

Remember: All Those "Hidden Clocks" >>>

* the clock in the CAR
* clock in the Digital Camera
* in the Microwave
* on the Stove
* on the Water Softener
* in the TV
* in the VCR
* on the Outside Lights timer
* in the Answering Machine (3rd sweep found that one!)
* on your Pager (I'm doing it now)
* on your Cell Phone (it might auto-correct itself)
* on the Caller ID box (I'm holding out to see if it auto-corrects itself)
* the 'puter ought to be smart enough to change by itself
* Annnnnd - your Wrist Watch! (now ... WHERE are the Instructions!?)

OK ... I give up for now.
I *ALWAYS* miss at least one ... usually find it when Daylight Saving STARTS
in the spring!

And HAPPY Daylight Saving Time to all you Folks on the "Bottom Half"
of the ole Dirt Ball!

Thanks, Phred! I always miss one or two, although I was pleasantly surprised to find my new DVD/VCR changed the time itself.

And as for smoke alarms, I always tell myself I'm going to do it, but seem to forget. This time they reminded me by going off - they beep when the batteries get low. So all clocks, timers and now the smoke alarm are good to go. Loved the extra hour of sleep too.
