This may be a silly question, but it's ok for cats to eat catnip, right? Pumpkin used to roll around in it and drool all over it, but now she just eats most of the pile I put out for her.

I'm hoping it won't hurt her.

Nope, there is no harm in them eating catnip. From my understanding it's actually good for them to eat it because it helps with digestion.

I sure hope it's okay because Sunny and Storm have eaten a lot of it over the years. :D I've also read that it helps with digestion. ;)

It is okay! Here my cats also react differently to catnip. Maya goes a bitty nuts ;) , Inka goes completely nuts and rolls in the catnip, and Zazou just EATS it :D

They only care about the dried stuff though, as we had plenty of fresh catnip in our garden, and none of them ever touched it

Its very good, for them, like eating grass,it does help thier digestion.
And theres less to clean up,afterwards.

:) Is the timing just right on this question == due to Splenda's problems & I just asked the Vet Saturday of that question & he said it was ok for cats to eat catnip, but not a whole lot at a time..

Aww! Ebby's cute and Pumpkin eats her nip the same way. :D

Thanks everyone. I know now she's not in any danger. ;) I just wonder why she went from rolling in it to eating it.

They're SUPPOSED to eat it, silly!! If it wasn't good for them or it was harmful, they wouldn't be marketing it :)

And some cats are sensitive to catnip and others are not. And there is a range of sensitivity. I would not give my cats a huge amount at once, but then, catnip grows in the wild, so outdoor cats can find it and use it to their hearts' desire, so I would guess it is probably okay to whatever degree your kitty likes. That is just my guess.
