Honestly? No. But we always would telephone every day to "speak" to our pets. We had a set time and did this every day. Our late cat, Tiggy was very vocal and would "talk" to us. Bobby the Dog would bark -- and the human with them said the other cats, our Sasha, Princess & Paddy-Paws would put their paws on the phone, looking for us inside :D
