Okay, Shiloh is getting a cat tree for a late Birthday present. I *think* I have one picked out but want to see what you guys think. All of them are from the Drs. Foster and Smith catalogue. Which one is your favorite? (You can vote for more than one if you like).

#1 Deluxe Cat Tree

Aren't those great? If I were buying another, (stop me before I charge again...) I've been eyeing the Mega in photo #1 with a high-ceiling extension, in Oatmeal color. (But the fairy tale castle or the pirate ship also appeal to my sense of whimsy. Can't you just picture that pirate ship with an added home-made fish-bone skull and crossbones flag???)

You were wondering about Shiloh though ... How old is she? How active? Does she adore heights or dens or both? How does she feel about making leaps: enthusiastic, cautious, somewhere in between? I need to know a bit more before I put in my 'two cents worth' for her.

Shiloh's 3 years old so she's still pretty active. She gets really playful especially at night. She likes to sleep somewhat up high when she's not sleeping with me. Well not too high, but she prefers to be perched somewhere where she can keep an eye on all the action. After we moved, she staked claim on these two boxes I had stacked up and never let me move them. I had to put towels and blankets over them to camoflauge it and make it comfy :) Thats one of her favorite sleeping places but I am getting sick of it so I am hoping a cat tree will make her forget about it. So in summary, she needs a place to play but that could double as a sleeping area too.

Have you seen the one with the dog bed attached at the bottom of it? That is one I will get sometime in the future but don't have room for it right now.

Hmm, well, of course you have a better feel for her needs and wants -- but #1 would give her a good workout and a several levels to play/sleep without losing much floorspace. What color were you thinking of? Same for the watchtower and kitty tower. I love the looks of the spiral tower, but it has a much larger footprint and would be more useful for an older or less active cat.

The paradise always makes me laugh, but I don't think my fur-babies would like it much. ;) At least they don't think much of their cat hammock (unless I have my sewing on it!). Cats!

Do keep us posted. I'm intrigued.

Lucky Shiloh!:D I voted for both the Spiral Penthouse and the Amusement Park. The penthouse seems to have the easiest access to all levels; the amusement park looks like it could present a challenge for her to reach the plateau . . . I have one with a tube and my husband had to modify the position of it so Debra could use it more easily to go up to the top level. But the style of yours looks like that sisal post in back goes all the way up, so Shiloh could simply climb to the top . . . ? Whichever one you choose, I'm sure she will be delighted!:D :D

Lucky gal indeed! I've been wanting to get one of these for my cats too. I actually voted for 3 different ones:
1. The Amusement Park
2. Watchtower
3. Spiral Penthouse

I liked the Amusement Park because it gives a couple of places to lay on and one to lay in/play in.

The watchtower was nice because it's incorporates the taller deluxe cat tree type of feel, but doesn't seem as narrow. Plus it has a place to lay in and sleep.

The Spiral Penthouse is kind of like a combo tree/ amusement park with a bed at the top and some 'shelves' to play around on.

They're all nice of course and I'm sure Shiloh will like any one that she gets:D
Do let us know though, because inquiring minds want to know! LOL LOL

This is the one I'm going to eventually get but not right now:

If you are scoping out other alternatives, I adore the look of the Angelical Cat (http://www.angelicalcat.com/) cat trees. They make me drool, although postage from Florida really adds up when it coming across the country...

I did get their 3-story cat condo (scalloped design) a while back and my furbabies love it... Lugging it home from UPS was a CHALLENGE!!!! Not sure how much it weighs, but it's more than I can handle gracefully.

Oh my goodness, look at this one. Too bad it seems a bit much for one cat, hehee.

Personally, if I were a cat, I would want #7 paradise. It just looks like fun if your hyper or lazy. But Tinky would probably prefer #1 deluxe cat tree, only cause she is still a baby and HYPER !!!!! I think she would like to run up and down it.

My vote goes to the Spiral Penthouse--

Our cats have never really been much for hidey-holes but love baskets & steps. That just spells Kitty-Heaven for my bunch!

I've been thinking of getting a cat tree too, Aly, for Butter, so he will quit using us as a scratching post!! I liked the first two, but I thought sizewize and adventure wise, the Watchtower would be the one I would choose for him. I know Shiloh is much daintier and nicer than Butter though!! Butter is staring at me through the window right now, after banging on the screen and scaring me out of my seat a few minutes ago!! Bad, Bad Butter.

I know Shiloh will love whichever one you choose.

Logan :)

When I first brought it home she ran all over it like a little squirrell. She is soooo cute. (well i think so anyway).

I suppose that would mean you need to add a few more furry felines to the family!! After all, cats are like potato chips...it's so hard to have only one....LOL LOL :D Just kiddin'

That is quite the tree though! LOL LOL

I would love to get one for Kylie but we will have to wait until Keegan is out of the destructive stage. ;)
But Kylie wants to know if she can come and play with Shiloh?
They are all beautiful. It looks like the spiral one is the most popular.

It's really hard to choose, If I had to choose I would go for the tallest one as I know my cats love going way up and even sleeping there... I have one from pet mate which is preety cool.

But the best ones I have ever seen are from http://www.angelicalcat.com
I would buy one if they would ship to Israel but they don't.

Of all the money I've spent on cat stuff, these cat "lairs" are the best success I've had. I had a "short" single hole lair for her that she eventually ripped to shreds from exercising on it--and also outgrew it.

I now have a sisal rope stand with one carpet circle - it is one of her most favorite places to be. http://www.netsnapshot.com/users/6974/images/th_PJx3nMCoBQIAACleWGY_6974_8.jpg

I love the big trees but not sure where they would fit. We have toyed with the notion of building a "cat corner" ourselves with carpeted steps and ledges.

One thing I would say - make sure it is stable. Ritz once pulled hers over on top of herself (she's a bit "plush", like our friend Scooter:rolleyes: )

Here is the first one she "outgrew"..http://www.netsnapshot.com/users/6974/images/th_PJvhYsCoBQIAAClWTC4_6974_6.jpg:eek:

These are amazing - more like detached houses than cat toys!! I've seen the smaller ones here - but those - WOW!!!

Tuxluvr - whatever happened to Ritz - is she in it - or on it, LOL - that is so funny :D :D

Aly - that wonderful cat tree looks like it was designed by Gaudi!!
Great!! :D

My three agree with Niina's two - buy 'em all, then stand back to repel foreign cats!!!!

Dan was patting the screen - does that mean he wants one?

I purrsonally love pagoda and paradise but the kitties prefer the deluxe. Do they ship to Canada and would I have to re-mortgage the house!

I would love to put all of them in a long line and see which one Fister would choose! :D Unfortunately, that would be too expensive to do!

We're soon going to build one, have already got a real good tree stump (ash tree) which, I've heard, is cats favourite tree.

We've got to hurry, because he's started to scratch the wallpaper in our corridor. Think he does it because he's bored - or when he can't get his own way. (he's down in "his" yard 2-3 times a week, scratching "his own" tree down there). ;)

Lynne

Lynn, the picture of her "hanging" over it cracks me up too - it looks like she tripped and fell on it...she was playing at the time reaching for the mousie. When I hold her, she is so big I have to prop her up so her head and shoulders are over my back...she also stretches her legs way out and just hangs them down, then falls asleep :)

LOL Tuxluvr - I've been back and viewed that pic of Ritz a couple of times - and I end up helpless laughing!! Your description had me falling on the floor too!! Just too funny for words :D :D

Thanks Lynne
