View Full Version : Thursday 126- Show me a trick!

RICHARD

Because of all the tension we have had for the last few weeks I thought that a mindless thursday would be in order sooooooo....

Let me welcome you all to the

First Annual Thursday's Talent Show.

If you have a simple physical talent that no one knows about, but you are really proud of, please show it off for us!!

There are no prizes for this contest.....except for the fact that you can do something that no one expects...

This is Theatre of the Mind, so remember to be descriptive!
---------------------------------------------

The DOTD is......
Mind Eraser

This can be prepared in a rocks glass without ice or in a highball over ice. It is meant to be slurped quickly with a straw. The carbonation in the soda will oxidize the alcohol content into your bloodstream quick.
INGREDIENTS:

1 oz. Kahlua
1 oz. Vodka
Splash of Club soda
PREPARATION:

Build over ice in a highball glass or straight into a rocks glass.

------------------------------------

If I don't see your order right off the bat please be patient.....The people in the office don't know I am drinking during work hours!!!!;)

Anything DOTD with Kahlua in it is for me!

I'm just so talented, I have no idea where to begin. I'm facially incline, and can do a lot of weird stuff with my face...heck, you all have seen me, so I know you know what I'm talking about! Heh..

Ok...ummm...a little known talent:
I can actually do this asana (yoga pose) without any difficulty:

http://www.yogajournal.com/poses/posesimages/11.jpg
It's called halasana (plow pose).

The only physical talent I have is walking into things - I'm such a clutz. :o

Just did it again last Saturday. Walking through the lobby of one of our State Park's lodges - rustic, historic, beautiful - <thud> OUCHIE!

Then I have a catch 22. Need a DOTD to ease the pain, but a DOTD makes me even more clutzy, requiring more DOTDs to ease more pain......

So.....line 'em up! ;) :D

Mario, want to see a really pretty purple bruise? Aaaahhh....yes...rubbing cherries on it does make it feel better.

The Safety Dance

We can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine

Say, we can go where we want to, a place that they will never find
And we can act like we come from out of this world
Leave the real one far behind

And we can dance

We can go when we want to, the night is young and so am I
And we can dress real neat from our hats to our feet
And surprise them with the victory cry

Say, we can act if we want to, if we don't nobody will
And you can act real rude or totally removed
And I can act like an imbecile

Say we can dance, we can dance
Everything's out of control
We can dance, we can dance
They're doing it from pole to pole
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody look at your hands
We can dance, we can dance
Everybody taken the chance

The safety dance
The safety dance
The safety dance

We can dance if we want to, we've got all your life and mine
As long as we abuse it we are never going to lose it
And everything will work out right

Say, we can dance if we want to, we can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
well they're no friend of mine

;) DONE!

I have pretty prehensile toes - I can pick up things like marbles, pens or pencils with my feet, or open certain doorknobs with a foot - but they have to be the old-fashioned kind, as my toes are not preternaturally long, so cannot grip the modern-shaped ones.

No DOTD for me, though, I still have plenty of Fruit2-O with me.

Can I get you a straw, glass or ice?

That's okay - as long as they drop three-dimensional things that they don't care if they get touched by feet - not problem. I developed the skill/talent as an asthmatic kid - bending down to pick anything up made me feel like I was "smuffocating," so I'd just pick stuff up with my toes!

No straw, glass or ice required, but I'll save the offer for some other time.

Hey y'all....today started off nice and sunny but now it's drizzling which means our Fall weather has started. Three months of rain coming up.

Oh Kay, a BBQ...sounds great. I'll avoid the pool though...for obvious reasons.:D

Catland....don't you have another talent that involves a deck and a wine glass???;) :D

Hi MOFF, Hi everyone else. Karen, does this mean we can call you "twinkle-toes?"

HI SLICK and EVERYONE ELSE TOO! moff waves

Gosh, Slick, I'd be flushing the phone down the toilet instead of the kitty leftovers!!!

What a thrill that would be for whoever was on the other end of the phone!!! ;)

Richard: Chester and the gang loved their catnip pie. They were especially impressed with the cherry Mario put on top. They played with it for hours. :D

Prayers for all our California pals who are being effected by the fires. Stay safe and let us know you are ok when you can.

It's only in the 50s here today. Could I have a cup of hot chocolate to kick off the fall season here? :D

Slick, and I thought you were just gargling when we talk on the phone! - No Wonder!!

See Cat General - I am having a kitty convention over here.

Hmm, my special talent - absolutely none come to mind - guess I will curl up and nap along with MOFF!:D

Richard, we've seen your talents.....a glove comes to mind....

Folks, the weather here is nothing short of pissy. It's dark, windy and we have torrential rains today. Mind if I send a few raindrops down there to put out the fires???

My company is putting on an "end of summer" BBQ today. Lots of burgers to spare. Anyone want to join me? Don't let the rains stop you.

In regards to the toe talents....I spilled some water on the floor this morning, and since CJ prefers it out of the tap and not off the filthy floor  I dropped a dish rag to wipe it up. Thinking of those more talented than I, when I was done wiping (with my feet), I tried to pick the towel up with my toes. You would think a towel would be pretty easy....but no go. I had to bend down and pick it up the usual boring way...with my hands. ;) :D

I bet SoCal wishes they would get some of that rain that was so prevalent in the spring time. Glad to hear all you Californians are playing it safe - thanks Gini. :)

My mind is pretty well blank today already so I might as well complete the job with one of those mind erasers. ;)

Oh, Slick, we had your weather yesterday afternoon and evening - nothing like fall waking us up with a slap in the face! We'll be lucky if we hit the 60's today - although it is bright and sunny with not a cloud in the sky. Beautiful fall weather...now where'd I put that jacket.....

I think she meant to say BP for blood pressure. Moff, that's way too high of a number and I sure hope the doc can bring it down. I'm on Atenolol 100 mg daily to keep mine in check.

Any chance of getting a double BM thrown my way? Would love a few of those garlic stuffed olives too! Yum!

It was a weird ride home.....

The San Fernando valley is a huge bowl.

If you are looking at it think of a clock face. A digital clock won't work ;) ....... If you put yourself at the center of the bowl from the 11 o'clock position to around the 6:30 spot there is a plume of smoke on the horizon. The sun ducked below the plume, an angry red sun, at about 6:00- that's forty minutes before the real sunset.

It's hot outside and with a coat on these guys are really earning their money.

Some businesses have donated places where the FM have been able to catch a bite, drink and rest for a few minutes.

In all the turmoil it's nice to see everyone cooperate.

We can only pray.

I know this is really morbid but if you are watching this on TV or over the Web, it's kinda mesmerizing......

Just got back. I did mean BP instead of PB. PB& J was what I ate for breakfast.

Anyway, BP is lower = 201 / 108. Still way too high so now I have another medicine to take plus my other one. I'll start the new one at bedtime. I have to go back next Thursday morning.

All paws and fingers crossed for me, please? The word critical has been mentioned.

Moff I really hope the new meds do the trick and get that BP
down to safer levels.I have hypertension also & take the same
medication as Slick and it does seem to help me. Remember they
don't call this "the silent killer" for nothing. Please take care. :)

MOFF, do you have a BP monitor? I do and check my BP every other day at different times of the day...even at work. My BP is always higher in the doctor's office than it is at home. I've even started to check my blood sugar on a regular basis now. It's just part of being preventative.

Please do take care of yourself....you mean so much to me. :)

I am afraid for you. This sounds like a very good Doctor. He's
doing his job of taking care of you.I don't mean to butt in or
anything, but please do take his instructions to heart. Best of
luck with getting those numbers down.:)

Moff I was first worried you would bump around too much but now I am rather worried about your BP. Take care! I hope the meds kick in soon. I'm a little paranoid about BP as my mom started to have major heart problems when she was my age (she's 84 now and still survives :) ) but up to now it's ok. *Phew* Going to Italy tomorrow I should anyway stick with a little wine which is good for the heart.

I can't really tell how I'm feeling! I've been so sleepy ever since I took that new med last night. I got up, got dressed, took a nap, ate lunch and am now ready for another nap. I sure hope it's not going to be this way forever!!!

Oh, Italy!!!! I've always wanted to go! Have fun!!! Drink a sip of wine for me. My drinking days are long over now. :D

Hehehehe. :D :D
I made a new chat if anyone is interested, PM me.
The other got infected by banned PT members trying to cause trouble. This one is private and you will need to register to join, however, you do not need ICQ to do this.

And no, as of yet no one's mentioned and speak of "hot boys." ;)
