I trust all the opinions of PTer's, so I'm going to ask opinions on this!! LOL anyways, right now i am on dial-up with AOL, and this guy from Charter called and offered us another thing with a modem. We had Cable internet before on a Modem, and it worked like crap  it made me so mad. It was high-speed, and this is not high-speed it's something else. Not sure what its called. Right now we are paying $23.95 for AOL which isnt the fastest thing, it ties up the phone lines, and AOL lied to my mom on the price. The Charter thing we got offered is $29.95 a month, it would be faster, and just $6 more. Do you think we should switch? I really think we will, but I don't know if my laptop could handle it....So What does everybody think?

I think you should let your parents decide what they want for their computer...

my mom doesnt use the computer, and my parents are divorced, so it's all mine, my mom hates that the AOL ties up the phone line so she would be willing to get this:D. It's basically my decision.:)

Is it broadband internet?

If it does not tie up the phone lines then yes I would switch. If it would still be tying up phone lines then no.

We are going have DSL when we move back to our house in a couple weeks. I really liked it when we had it before, and liked that didn't have worry about it typing up the phone lines.

switch but beware.... those AOL people are like vultures when someone cancels - expect 8 phone calls a day, and 3 AOL cd's through the mail a month.

Ha....they begged my mom to take the free trial that led up to me getting AOL in the first place...
