I started the antibiotic Thursday.
Friday afternoon the sack popped by itself I guess... or he pawed at his eye. It was there one moment and gone the next.
I think liquid came out because his cheeck was wet.
I don't know if this is normal. I called the vet this morning to tell them what happened and I am still waiting to hear from them. The vet who saw him Thursday will be in tomorrow. Maybe she will call then. He seems fine. Apart from a little excessive tearing in that eye he seems to be ok.
Never heard of cherry eye popping....

Hmmm that's interesting. Hopefully, it'll go away. Let us know what the vet says.

I know it's strange. Maybe the vet was wrong and it was an infection.... or maybe he got scratched by Beenie after all... (someone suggested that in the thread about it).
I dunno. Will let you know what the vet says.

That is weird. I've never heard of one popping either.

Hope things continue to do well for him... and you!

Poor little guy. How'd he get cherry eye?

Boston terriers are predisposed in getting these kind of eye related ailments as well as cocker spaniels, bull dogs and several other breeds. Cherry eye occurs when there is an inflamation of the third eyelid.
The vet still has not called back... :(

When will YOU show us pics of your Boston?
Do you really have one? :)

OK. The Vet finally called me.
She said that I should stop the antibiotic cream in his eye and if it doesn't come back, he won't need surgery after all. YAYA
She said she's known of only a handful of cases where this has happened. Looks like he will only be getting neutered!
I'm going to move that closer to Beenies spay day - oct 27, at this point, so they will recover together instead of one then the other.
What a relief.
