Our "new" Zazou is a girl! She was dropprd in front of the shelter with her 4 kitties, in a coolbox :eek: :eek: . ARGH... THOSE PEOPLE :mad:

All her kittens got adopted during the summer; but you can still see she had babies!

Zazou is a lovely sweet black cat with white socks, and white manes!!

She has very long hair. Zazoo is so skinny, but we will change that from today on!!

She was so scared because she wasn't used to such a large room. At the shelter, she was confined to a small room, together with 14 other cats!!
I would love to make her go potty asap. The "air" coming out her doesn't smell very good ( :eek: :D ).As 2 other cats have diarhea, I want to know asap if she needs medicine! The vet is not there during weekends. But I will go first thing on monday! I will also make an appointment to get her fixed; no more babies for my darling Zazou! I wonder how old she really is; she is so skinny, and a real light-weight. I will try to weigh her later today.

Her white "socks" are very dirty. I would love to give her a bath, but I am not sure if that's a good idea??:confused:

ps. Woohoo, she showed me her belly already!! She wanted a belly-rub!! Oh my, she has such a loud purr, just like Inka. She also is a very vocal cat, but her voice is much higher than Inka, so I will always hear who is meowing ;)

Yippie, during the night, Zazou produced two extra large tootsie-rolls and several pee-biscuits!! And this morning, she was grooming herself!!
We are still busy intruducing her to our other cats. Maya is playing the "mighty princess": "I do not look, so there is nothing!"
Inka starts hissing when she is getting to close to the newbie :rolleyes: :D
I took several pics already, but no time to resize them..... ;)

When she was found in that cool-box, she was even skinnier and still nursing her 4 kittens! They took very good care of her at the shelter! That shelter is an "absolutely-no-kill-center"; they even take in sick cats and make sure they get better. We saw the "sick-bay": there was a gorgeous siamese. They found her in the dumps, all muddy, and deadly sick. The vet comes EVERY day to take care of all the cats, for a minimum charge. We will donate money for this shelter, as they give up any luxury; everything they own goes to the pets!

Yes, and a mom cat that starts out skinny and is nursing babies will not gain weight until the babies are weaned no matter how well she is fed. Bonnie came to me pregnant and very skinny. She was fed well but she never gained weight until after the babies stopped nursing. Zazou should start to fill out more now. :)

A few years ago I fostered a skinny mama who was nursing 5 kittens. She ate almost 2 lbs (1 kilo!!) of food a day!
