On average here its $2.60-ish but around labor day it went up to $3.30!! Thankfully its back down but stays around $2.80... this is so ridiculous!

:( I think we are $2.65? to $2.80? // I think it is the same as lutting (stealing) & there should be a stop to it.. You know they are not the only ones that get hurt threw all of these disasters & yet they think they are able to robb us to death.. Gas Comp

Opps did I just get on my soap box or what.. Venting

Actually gas prices are legitamitely up because of Katrina. A LOT of our oil came from the ports down there that were affects and/or destroyed by Katrina, so they had to find alternative routes to get the oil to the rest of America... this took time and money and made us have a lack of oil so prices went up.

But you're right, a lot of stations WILL raise prices just to gain a larger profit by feeding off crisis that are happening around the world (the tsunami, which didn't affect our oil industry at all.. etc)

I know, it's crazy. I heard it's going to go up to $4.oo by the weekend...but then, it's hard to tell sometimes because the media likes to make us panic :(

The Energy Department is saying our gas supply resources will be compromised for 1 to 3 weeks. The refineries that supply up north (midwest) have been shut down. Look for high gas prices in the next coming weeks and short supplies.

Yesterday the cheapest station near me was $2.55. They were at $3.49 right after Katrina so I dread to see what Rita brings.

$2.64 was the lowest I noticed today. I've got 3/4 tank so
I wasn't really looking.I also heard the price should rise a lot
soon after Rita.
