I heard a screech and figured Tilly was being a piss pot, as usual. I waited a moment to let it fizzle out, and then went into my bedroom, expecting to find tufts of hair at the most. I walked in to blood spots all over the carpet around my bed and bloody paw prints in my bed. Tilly had Tigger cornered under the bed and he was bleeding from his lip and just below his eye. By that time it had mostly stopped but she did scratch him in two places for sure. I checked him all over and cleaned out his wounds as best as I could. I have managed to clean all the blood out of the carpet that isn't mine.. since I rent here.

Please, I am desperate. Tigger is a very sweet and loving cat. He needs a home. I will drive him as far as my car can take me in a 12 hour period to find him a home. Please.. someone has to be able to love him! :(

Hmmm.....seems to me that all we need now is transportation from 12 hours from Cloverdale, BC to Gary's place. Where is Gary's place? I know I've sent things there in the past, but his address is on my home computer. Gary, can you just give us the city and Province (is that what they're called? Sorry for my cluelessness) you live in so we can see if we can round up a transport crew? I'm a bit far from Canada, but would be willing to help anyway I can. :)

Hi Naomi, do you have any photos of him?
Some more information?
Your exact location?
I will cross-post to some friends on other boards.

I can't get him to Gary's. It's a 6 or 8 hour flight let alone a drive. Plus I really don't think he'd do well in that environment. There are too many cats living there.

Kay - I don't have a digital camera so I will see if I can borrow one. He's a lovely cat.. I will try to get some pictures.

Sas - oh how I wish you lived about 40hrs closer! ;)

Thanks for the support everyone.

I think we all just need to find out how Gary keeps his found cats from trying to kill each other. What is your secret Gary?

Oh Naomi, I pray that you are able to find another home for Tigger.

Hang in there, I'm sure something will come up real soon.

I DONT NOW,WHAT THE SECRET IS.
EXCELPT,FOR PRECIOUS TEASING,THE PRINCESS,AND THE KITTEN SCRAPPY 2,CHASING TAILS,THEY REALLY DO SEEM,TO LIKE EACH OTHER HERE.
AND JJJ3,AND MICHAEL,ARE TO NEW CATS,WHAT MR SCRAPPY,AND MR FLUFFY,WERE TO THEM,MENTORS,LIKE SCRAPPY MAGOO,AT LISAS.
ALL I KNOW,IS THAT HARMONY REIGNS AT THE FOUND CAT HOTEL,WHERE SELDOM,IS HEARD,A DICOURAGING MEEEOW,AND THE CATS,THEY ARE PURRING ALL DAY.
GIVE,US A HOME,LIKE THE FOUND CAT HOTEL,WHERE THE PERSIANS,AND THE SIAMESE PLAY.

Gee we have 24 and it's amazing how well they all do. I can agree with not being able to get him that far, but not with there are too many cats.

I'm only making that call based on what I know of Tigger's personality, not that owning a lot of cats is a bad thing.

I have some potentially good news; I might be able to place him with a friend and I'm hoping and praying beyond all hopes that this will work out. She will be wonderful for him and they only have one other cat so I really hope it works. Keep those fingers and paws crossed, please!!!

Did you introduce them the right way? You know, have one cat play in one room than let the other cat come in and get the smell with the first cat not around. Then do it a lot and get the smell around the house so the cats can get use to the smell of the other.

I did that with my two. Then I had my cat look at the new cat in it's carrier. Then slowly let the new cat out so they could finally touch noses. It does work. Patience is all that is needed and a no nonsense attitude that they WILL get along.

No, I didn't introduce them right away. I've introduced cats before. My two cats just don't like Tigger. Plus, I don't want to keep him, and I never have wanted to keep him, and I'm not going to keep him. The stress of having him here isn't fair to me or my own two cats who are my first priority.

I've emailed several no-kill shelters in my area and hopefully I will be able to place him soon.
