Do any of you sponsor animals as well as fill your houses with them!

I currently have:

Jasper - Dog's Trust
Tutti - Monkey World
A Tiger - WWF (not the wrestling organisation!)

and have just joined the PDSA Best Friends scheme

On top of this I also sponsor Monserrat (5 year old girl) through Action Aid.

Could this be why I never have any money

Maybe that is what I need to do! Sponsor one! I like that idea. I would love to foster but due to stressing Amy, I can't do that and I just get way to attached anyway and so does Chester. If it is not real expensive, I could do like you and sponsor several.

What a wonderful thing for you to do! You are such a great person. I didn't even know that you could do that, but I will look into it :D

I pay £2 a month each for Jasper and the tiger
£4 a month to the PDSA
and £15 a month to Action Aid

Not much really in the grand scheme of things

Fabulous job!

My rescue also relies heavily on the sponsorship program. A lot of people don't realize that they can help in this manner.

I sponsor SOS Children's Village in South Africa. It is an organisation which "groups" of orphaned children into family units and places them in a house with a "house mother" so the kids get to grow up in a family unit and not an institution. It's a great idea, and every Christmas we get thank-you letters and Christmas Cards from some of the kiddies. I also sponsor "Little Eden" which a home for severely mentally handicapped children in my home town in SA. When we left SA 6 years ago we made arrangements to keep our bank account open to pay these two debits every month.

I do support and volunteer at our animal shelter here, but Sponsoring an animal is a GREAT idea. I think we will look into sponsoring an animal in SA when we go back in December.

(((HUGS)))) to all of you for being such caring giving people!

I used to sponsor a humback whale as well as donate to exotic bird rescues and wolf rescues. I still donate to several wild animal rescues. There is a wonderful wild animal rescue here in the area. They specialize in animals that were used for movies and other performing acts that are injured, of retirement age or that were abused. I wish I could voulenteer there!
Sponsorship is such a wonderfull thing. Even the smallest contribution helps!
