Sneakers has FIV. And he is in liver failure. But we don't want him to die, not yet. He is too young and he is so sweet. Is there a miracle for our Sneakers?

This is the QUOTE: "Cautiously optomisitc update" from Sneakers' foster mom.

I walked in the iso ward and said "Hi Sneakly, are you better?" and he instantly, but slowly, got up, looked right at me and meowed. He ate like half of the cup of turkey scraps I brought. I had to hand feed him and it took like an hour, but he ate it!!! He was so glad to see me, he was major head-butting and PURRING!!! His blood work went out this afternoon so I should know soon what's up. I just feel if they can stablize him, and I bring him home, he'll be happy and he'll eat!! Maybe I can pull him out of this.

God bless you Sneakers.

The blood work suggests anemia (not fatty liver disease), but the cause is the same...not eating.
The foster mom is going to bring him home and do supportive care with an appetite stimulant, fluids and whatever it takes to get him to eat.
If he dies, it is at least in a home. :(

Come on Sneakers! We want you to live.

Sweet boy, you will feel so much better if you eat- one little bit of turkey for mom, one for dad, one for auntie Jen...........(this is how we feed little children over here who don't want to eat ;))

Sneakers is at the emergency vet hospital. He would not eat so they are giving him fluids and will be inserting a feeding tube tomorrow. He needs all the thoughts he can get just to survive the procedure.

Good luck Sneaks.

This sadly sounds very familiar to what Meeshe suffered with . . . difference being that his liver failure (to which he did succumb, but he was an adult cat) was due to FeLV.

I hope and pray Sneakers can rebound and show us all that miracles do happen. Try and be strong, precious! {{{HUGS}}}

He has a feeding tube in but is doing so much better. The thing to do now is to get him to eat on his own.

As you know he is FIV positive. But the specialist seems to think that he might have leukemia in his bone marrow. (which is why he can't replace his red blood cells). Does anyone have any info on this condition? We were told it is not contagious when it is in the marrow because it is not in the saliva.

But continued prayers for this sweet boy would be appreciated.
