Here's a few pictures from my rugby game today. I played in two games, this game was tied 0-0. I played a second game too which we lost 0-3. However we had lent the other team two of our players and it was one of our players that scored.

We were practcing our scrums before the game. That's me with my arms in the air. I'm waiting for the rest of my first row to join me.

Ref had just called a scrum. I'm in the red/blue shirt in the front #2.

Overall it was a good day. No real injuries to anyone on the team other than some nasty bruises that I'm sure we will all be showing off to our friends!

Those are some fun photos! That's so cool that you play rugby. I've always been intrigued by the sport, but, not enough to ever want to play. I'm too much of a sissy. ;)

I think it's a really fun sport. I hadn't played in a few years and I really missed it. I'm happy to be playing again. Although now my body doesn't seem to handle the playing as well as it did a few years ago!

Wh-wh-what? Your body doesn't enjoy getting pummelled? (or is it pummeled?) ;) Be careful, I hope you're able to do it for as long as you want.

That's cool! What exactly is a scrum, anyway? Is that a way to resolve who gets the ball?

Yes it is. Any time there is a knock-on (pass forward) you have a scrum. Say I accidentally passed the ball forward or knocked it forward then the scrum is in favor of the other team. Meaning that their scrum half gets to throw the ball in giving them the advantage.
