View Full Version : Update Pet Talk Children!

I know there are too many pet talkers out there to remember who's going to have baby soon or sooner. and for whose had too. I see there's so many same baby 'tickers' around here under their signature, so I thought to made a thread of little pet talkers and keep a track for all!

here, if you know, you can post who's due when? - (samantha puppy, jods, ally's mom...) and who had who when? - (chris's misha, johanna's jonah, missy's tyler...) and am sure there's more. :D

and do you know if it's a girl or boy?

Do I count?:) We are adopting, and are currently waiting on our referral. We should get our referral somewhere around January and should travel to China to pick our baby up sometime around February or March. We have requested and will most likely get a girl. Her name will be Mary Joyce, and she will have a second middle name--either Lian or her current Chinese name (depending on the meaning and pronunciation). She will probably be between 9 months and one year old when she comes home, although this can vary somewhat. Can you tell that I'm excited?:)

I'm due right around Christmas (I say Christmas Day, my OB says December 28th) with our first baby - which we have discovered is a boy.

His name will either be Benjamin Joshua or Evan Joshua.

Axel - my nephew and the son of Lady's Human (my brother) will be one year old on November 19th - he's already 20 pounds, he's a big boy! :)

His big sister Marylin Jean turned 4 in August.

And maybe when Lady's Human gets back from postal duties in Oklahoma, I'll get to see newer pictures of them both!

I think that Cataholics neice Sammy should be included as she has stolen all of our hearts following her progress and recovery.
She was adopted too but what a sweetie.

I agree that Sammy should be included. What a strong little girl!

I don't normally step out on limbs like this, but the second part of this quote makes me want to remind everyone that adopted children are their parents' children in every sense except for biology. I just don't think that "She was adopted too" should need to be a qualifier. She is Cataholic's niece. Period. The only reason that I asked if I was included in this thread in my first post is because our daughter is not home yet, and I am not physically pregnant (only "paper pregnant":)) No hard feelings or anything--I'm just very sensitive about these kinds of things. OK, I'm off of my soapbox now.

That is so VERY true!! Our "waiting period" felt just like a pregnancy. The day our children "arrived" is a 2nd "birthday" for them. In fact, Indra had her 15th Belgian Birthday yesterday( you could call it a "gotcha" day too), as she arrived in our family 15 years ago:) . Our kids LOVE their 2nd birthday, as it also involves extra pressies ;) :)

I know Corinna meant not a thing by that post! And, I do second, or is it third, the sentiment that no matter HOW we were blessed with our children, we were blessed all the same!

No hard feelings at all. I didn't think you meant anything by it at all, but I also didn't want anyone else to take it the wrong way.

Now let's get this thread back to it's original subject--sorry for getting it off-track.:)

prchrswife- What does dossier to China mean? Is that when you sent the paperwork or is that when you get to pick up your little one?

That's the date when our paperwork was actually received by the Chinese government agency that deals with adoption. There is actually another date called the Log-in-Date which is the date that our information was logged into the computer system there. That is actually the date where the countdown begins, but it is a little more difficult to explain. On average, in a regular adoption (non-special needs), you get a referral 6-7 months after your DTC (dossier to China) date, and then travel 6-8 weeks after getting your referral.

Tonya doesn't post too often anymore, but we need to include her little Tyler, and Jaden too.

prchrswife- So you should be getting a referral in about 3-4 months and then travel to China about 6 weeks after that? When you get your referral, will you get a picture/name/info on the child you are adopting (I'm assuming it will be a girl)?

We are expecting our referral to come probably in January, although there is a remote possibility of December. When we get the referral, that is when we will get our picture/name/info. Then we wait for another month or so on travel approval. After the travel approval comes through, then our facilitator sets up appointment times for our group, and then we get our travel dates. There is A LOT of hurry up and wait time in this process.:)

Don't forget- no mood swings! :D I had some horrible mood swings while I was pregnant with Misha. Poor hubby got chewed out for stirring his oatmeal wrong, then I promptly burst into tears for chewing him out.

What exciting time for you and your family! Please keep us updated! We can't wait to meet your new addition- along with all the other new ones on the way!

Just found this thread- and thought I'd post a picture of my new addition.
His name is John Mansell Ernest, and he was born September 2, 2005, weighing 6 pounds 4 ounces.
I've attached a picture of him with his great grandmother- she is 89 next week.
