I haven't really talked much about Visa. This is my first thread about her anyways.

She did me so proud today. We went to the Wiggle Waggle Walkathon with Jynnelle, Tikeya, Baby, and some other friends. We went in the obedience cakewalk and she won us a cake! She came in second in the veggie dog dunking contest and won some prizes. She was so good, letting everyone pet her. That's awesome because she needs socialization with people. In the cakewalk, she thought she was in the showring and got confused, so I actually handled her like we were in the ring, and she did much better that way. Silly girl. :) We came home with bags full of treats and toys and tons of other stuff. I'm so proud of her. Now she's sleeping soundly beside me. Long day.

I hope to get some pictures of her on the computer soon, so I can show her to you all. I just need to get to my mom's house because my pictures can't go on this computer.

Anyways, I was just excited. :) Just wanted to give a nice congrats thread for my girl.

She's the Belgian groenendael that is mine until next year, when I get my catahoula. Then, she either goes back to the breeder or I keep her for good, it really depends on the circumstances. If she does go back to her breeder, I get her again when she is pregnant (it will be such a good learning experience, raising puppies). Until then, it's like a co-ownership. I keep her and do things with her and get her socialised, and in return I get to do anything I want with her. She's a good practise dog for when I get my catahoula. Visa and I are signed up for agility lessons in October. When I'm more familiar with showing I will be able to handle her in conformation. We're going to do some obedience either later this year or early next year. Then next year we're going to go to the herding clinic, and if I can get her drive worked up enough, we're going to do Schutzhund.

She's a really nice dog with a good temperment. She's intelligent and very focused, and is a good guard and watch dog. So affectionate. Her only problem is that she is a bit shy. Today at the Wiggle Waggle she let everyone pet her, so that was just great. When she was a puppy, the vet gave her parvo (long story, but he's not a good vet), so she missed her socialisation period because she was sick. So atleast she wasn't born shy -- I know we can work through it. In the show ring, when the judge looks at her teeth, she shies away a bit (even so, in her last show she took Best of Breed and she placed 4th in the Herding group! VERY good!). She is an amazing prospect and I'm very excited for the both of us. I miss Timber, and I love having a big dog.
